    TB Gallery

I know this must be covered somewhere in the forums, but I can't seem to find it.... How do I post a new picture of a travel bug that I grabbed to it's photo gallery? I can't seem to find anywhere to upload pics. Thanks!
  2. The other day, for the first time, I saw a silica gel packet inside a cache container. I was just wondering if anyone here has ever used these when placing a cache, and whether or not they really work in keeping cache contents dry. If so, a very novel idea, and I'll be saving them for future use!
  3. Can someone please tell me how long it takes to do all the caches on this trail by bike? Thanks!
  4. I live on the Easton, PA and Phillipsburg, NJ border. Looking for places to geocache where I can either hike or bike and spend the day cluster caching (state parks, etc). Willing to drive 50ish miles either way. Any suggestions? Thanks!

    Rent-A-Kid

I LOVE geocaching, but my husband doesn't. I know there must be a lot of kids out there who would LOVE this sport and have no one to take them. I was wondering if there is any sort of agency (other than Big Brothers/Big Sisters) out there that would match me with a youngster to take geocaching every weekend. Or even if Big Brothers/Big Sisters would match me with a kid that wanted to exclusively go geocaching every weekend. Any thoughts or ideas? I live in Northeast PA. Thanks for reading.
  6. I know there's probably a topic about this somewhere, but the "search" isn't working for me. Anyway, I'm starting to think about where I want to go on vacation next year; however, I'd like to make it a geocaching vacation--a whole week of geocaching. Any suggestions on where to go? I want to stay in the U.S., and preferably in just one place for a week. No kids--it's just my spouse and me. Thanks for any input! We like the outdoors so camping or staying in a lodge or cabin would be ideal. I'd like to find a lot during the week, and traditional caches are my favorite. Not into big cities....like the country.
  7. Thank you all so much for all the info....the Geocaching Community is wonderful!!
  8. I love geocaching, but the past 5 times I've gone out I've found little brown ticks with red spots crawling on my clothes. I know several people who have Lyme disease, and it's no picnic. Does anyone know of a good tick repellent for clothes...or any tips and tricks to keep from getting bitten by these pesky critters?? Thanks!
  9. Duh....how'd I miss that??? Thanks!
  10. How do I upload a pic of a travel bug I found to that travel bug's log? Newbie here still learnin' the ropes...thanks!
  11. Hi All. I placed an activated geocoin in my cache the other morning. Two people visited it that day. The next morning I went to check my cache and noticed that the coin was gone. It hasn't been logged or mentioned in my cache log. Is there a protocol to be followed here? Should I email the two cachers who visited that day and question them about the coin (it was a nice coin!!)? What do I say without making it look like I'm accusing them of stealing? This is all new to me and I don't want to offend anyone. Thanks for reading.
  12. I'm willing to spend up to $300. I'll be using the device strictly for caching. Turn by turn directions would be nice. I'd also like a device that I can download caches to from geocaching.com. A large, color screen would also be nice!
  13. I'm new to geocaching and have been using my iPhone geocaching application. I'm not real happy with it and was wondering if someone could recommend a good GPS unit for a beginner--something relatively easy to use but that I can "grow into". I really don't need all the bells and whistles. My head is spinning from all the reviews I've been reading, so I thought I'd reach out to you folks. A lot of the reviews say the user manuals on many of the units don't give very good instructions, which turned me off. Any recommendation/input is much appreciated.
  14. Hi! I'm new to geocaching and tried my first find today with my iPhone geocaching app. Unfortunately, I couldn't find it. My iPhone compass said I was 4 feet away at one point but I don't know how to read a compass so didn't know which direction to turn. Anyone know of any good websites to teach compass reading? Thanks!
