  1. I was planning on bringing a dessert to the picnic, but I just found out that I won't be able to make it. I'm sad that I can't make it. One day soon I sure hope to meet you all. Have fun!
  2. Rikki and I are up for this. Either date works for us. Cuesta park is good. I won't be here on the 15th, so I vote for the 22nd.
  3. Hi 4Backrd, Congratulations to Babaganoosh. I live near your cache, and my other cache, Stumpview (which you and Babaganoosh visited) isn't too far, either. If you'd like, I could adopt your cache. Just let me know what I need to do.
  4. I really enjoyed this cache. it offers a great view. Finding the right road was a little tricky, but once you do, you're only about 100 yards from it. You enter a dirt lot for the last segment. I highly recommend this one. Reno Travel Bug Port
  5. If you plan it the weekend of the 22nd, I can make it.
  6. I would recommend looking up A Special Memory when you get to Vegas. Not only is the location convenient, but it's quite amusing and appropriate for "the strip". The cache is not only a large ammo box (so you can have fun with treasures and Travel Bugs), but is quite amusingly "dressed". Have fun!
  7. Darn, I won't be in town for this event. I've done a little birding and I've read some books about the condor project. I developed an interest in condors and all threatened species after I got involved rehabilitating injured and orphaned wildlife in SLO county. I took in a Peregrine Falcon once. Unfortunately it died. So this event would have been a perfect blending of a few of my hobbies/interests (i.e. geocaching/birding/wildlife rescue). Well, I'm sure there will be another wonderful opportunity to meet fellow SLO geocachers.
  8. I decided to drop the TB at a cache in Vegas. The ODDS are good that someone else will be able to deal with this dilemma. But thanks for verifying what I suspected.
  9. . I grabbed a TB, who's destination is to have a picture taken in a casino, but isn't it illegal to take pictures in casino's? Does anyone know anything about that? Hi slmslo yes it is from my understanding that it is illegal to take pictures inside of casinos, but you could always ask the people at the front desk, they would be able to tell you. Thanks nomyar! That's a good idea. I'll do that.
  10. I'm not a fan of micros, but when a cache comes with such high recommendations it's hard to resist. I'll grab my husband and some coins and try to find Golum's Grotto when I get back from Vegas. I went to Disneyland last week with plans to do a virtual, multi-cache at the park, but I was having too much fun on the rides to actual do any hunting. The next day I did a virtual, multi-cache at Downtown Disney, which is free and I highly recommend it. The hunt let me to the discovery of an outdoor fireplace and sitting area that nobody knows about at the California Grand Hotel. Next weekend I'm going to Vegas to play in a volleyball tournament. I grabbed a TB, who's destination is to have a picture taken in a casino, but isn't it illegal to take pictures in casino's? Does anyone know anything about that?
  11. I just subscribed to the topic. Thanks for the tip. Now I can watch for any loose-knit events (which are the kind I prefer, I'm very loose-knit myself - kinda like a really bad crocheted sweater ) This forum is new to me so if I make any faux paws (there's one now!) I apologize. I'm going to Disneyland next week and I noticed there are some seemingly fun visual/multi caches down there. So this visit is going to be different and interesting compared to other times. I'm going to look for some TB's in SLO and see if any of them have a desire to head to Disneyland and CA.
  12. After all these years I see that there is a geocaching group in my area. How does one become a member of PO Cachers?
