  1. I've never understood why the map that tells you what areas are unavailable for a cache site doesn't have a satellite view option. I mean - I always need to have Google Maps open on the side and try and keep them in sync. I don't understand why? The red circles are sometimes on green spaces, and other times green spaces are available. But are those trees? Fields?
  2. I have taken to updating the coordinates (in gc.com) for caches that I've solved. Unfortunately, when viewing an area using the awesome map capability the caches are just where they've always been (at posted). Is there any reason why this can't be fixed? And in addition, the icon for a solved cache should have some visual indicator too... these 2 minor tweaks would do wonders for the usefulness of the map.
  3. Nice! You guys are living proof that forums work (if we needed any more). Now if only the map showed my solved caches in the right spot...... but that's for another thread. THANKS!!
  4. You know what would easily solve this...? Allowing the creation of a bookmark list from a LOC file. That way I could dump a LOC out of GSAK, and in GC.com I could turn that into a list, which I would then bump out as a Pocket Query. That would work. Similar to the way you can suck in a GPX (or KML) to make a route. Is there functionality that I'm unaware of that allows the compilation of a list more easily, instead of one cache at a time?
  5. No, it can't. I'm not sure what Potato Finder is referring to. As for the GPX upload page, that finally went away. The functionality was turned off about a year ago, but the page was still there and confusing members for a long time after that, even though TPTB said the functionality wouldn't be coming back. After repeated posts in the forums and an email to contact@geocaching.com, they finally removed the non-functional page. The Wherigo app allows you to import files through iTunes. I'm really not sure why they haven't done the same with the Geocaching app. That would seem to me to be a workable solution. I wonder if they even considered this. I'll go suggest it now to see if they'll consider adding this to the app. Awesome. And if they're wondering why some of us insist on using GSAK to sort our caches... tell them to try it! There's NO comparison. The filtering and RegEx and Macro support, etc. It's definitely the tool of choice at our household.
  6. Wait... can the geacaching app on iPhone open a locally saved GPX? Didn't think it could??
  7. Seems to be missing, unless I overlooked where it's normally kept. The Frog has been telling me for a while that this functionality (which once upon a brief time worked fine) is being worked on. I was really hoping that last night's maintenance had something to do with that (amongst other things). I can't stress enough: "Corrected coordinates" is NOT to be thought of as a replacement for me being able to upload a custom GPX from GSAK and then back into my iPhone as a PQ.
  8. OOPS - I meant "GPX Files" I used this a few times while it was live and it was the best thing ever. Still now I can upload a GPX to gc.com.... but that's as far as it gets. It doesn't show up in the PQ list as it is supposed to. Since the code for this already existed and was disabled, I can only guess that it was part of some deal with another developer? The API offers many new possibilities, and having this as a freebie undercuts one of the Frog's new friends...?? Please turn it back on!! It's a great way to organize a pack of caches for a day trip. Are there plans in the future to reinstate this functionality?
  9. From my 18 November 2011 - 05:53 PM post: "Corrected coords are all well and good... But uploading a GPX and seeing it as a PQ is great for laying out a day plan. If I had to choose I'd go with the uploaded GPX every time!! Not sure why Groundspeak would consider them equivalent or even mutually exclusive. "
  10. Look. I'm going on 8 years as a loyal follower. I just want a straight answer: What's so hard about leaving the EXCELLENT feature of allowing us to upload a GPX to the iPhone app in place. Please: Just a straight answer.
