  1. No much progress since... May be I have to cross the ocean myself (unfortunately zero responce from the Event CO or attendies either )
  2. I do agree on that, that's why I stated "" I can imagine that there are cases in which something like eg Legacy might be a solution as well. As for eg Aldi stores, all kind of sightings, restaurants, they can be archived when gone...
  3. I don't see the problem in archiving a WM that is gone. I mean nothing last forever. I have archived a few ANWB paddestoelen which are replaces bij sigh posts. Having said that , I can imagine that there are cases in which something like eg Legacy might be a solution as well.
  4. Thanks for the effort! I did not contact West 29, I think a user like sugarlandians or something close to that...
  5. Dear all, Over the last 10? years I contacted some geocachers (even posted a comment in an event) to help me out with my name, but zero replies So, is there any one living near N29.353 or E29.353 (Axel-F conversion) who can supply me the required images?? Looking forward to all the positive reactions. Warmest Regards from the Netherlands

  7. This is an interesting case. Imho I think that a small library with an integrated free pantry should be accepted in both cat's. If I take for instance the Eiffel Tower, that one fits in 10 cat's. The purpose of this cat is to Waymark little free pantries. When a little free pantry is combined with books, then there is still the feature of the pantry in it. So, I would say welcome in both cat's as long as the requirements for posting are met.
  8. I don't visit the forums that often, but BruceS was an iconic name to me. He will be missed for sure.
  9. Thanks for the valuable comments so far.0 For now are only interested in Free drinking water tap points OUTdoors and NOT on private property. Fountains in toilets are excludes bij te 'indoors' statement but perhaps we should make that more explicit.
  10. Nowadays, as the search option is not working, I just click on a WM and than zoom in on the map and use "search from here'. That works just fine. Nevertheless, I would be nice if the 'place search' would work again.
  11. thanks for the clear feedback. For now I only have included: Waymarks will NOT accepted if: - on private property - not operational - indoors Will that narrow down the mundane part ? Here in NL they are not that wide spread.
  12. I knew it was discussed before, but I could not find the one you found, so thanks for that. As time goes by, and things around us change, I considered it a good idea to give it another shot. The cat is also more refined.
  13. Dear fellow waymarkers, As a runner, and geocacher I am frequently on the move. On some occasoins I run out of water. the last years I have seen FREE drinking water tap points pop-up al over. A very useful potentialy new cat imho. If you consider this a interesting idea I would be very please I you become member of the managing group. "Potable water seekers" (http://www.Waymarking.com/groups/details.aspx?f=1&guid=77229f9d-4f34-4da9-8612-fec826120561) . I can use also someone who has the English/American language as mother tongue so we can set up the cat in descent English. All suggestions are, as always, very welcome. Thanks in advance for all the input!
  14. cool! I have send him a direct message.
  15. Thanks for tour reply. I would also like to make some changes to the posting requirements :-) Only the leader can do that. Just as sending an e-mail to the group.
  16. Hi all fellow waymarkers, I have an, imho, urgens issue. I do reviewing for the categorie: European Historic Survey Stones, Monuments and Benchmarks managed by: European Survey History At this moment I am the only one reviewing,. As officer(s) of this group we have zero rights exept reviewing. The Leader is not active for a long time, and is not responding nor reacting to any messages. I have asked GS for help and later on requested GS to promote me to leader, so I can put some effort in getting the group alive again. GS however replies always with this message: --------------------------------------------------------- Hello Elwin- Thank you for contacting us about Waymarking. In order to support the rapid community growth of Geocaching.com, it was necessary to shift dedicated resources from Waymarking to Geocaching. Unfortunately, at this time we are only able to provide limited technical support. Please try posting your question on the Waymarking forums. These forums are monitored and can usually provide you with the best support. Best, Community Management Lead ---------------------------------------------------------- Any suggestions on what else I can do? I am approaching the border of getting desperate. All the help is highly appreciated. Elwin
  17. Thanks for the input so far. Although Limes WM’s could be covered in the Ancient Roman Civilization category, this separate category will pinpoint and show only the border of the Roman Empire. Besides that, I expect that the WM’s in The Limes category will be mainly reconstructions and markers of the former Limes. By putting them in this specific category, the Ancient Roman Civilization category will not be polluted with ‘new’ stuff. Suggestions still welcome.
  18. Hi All! I am considering of starting/creating a new category called The Limes, which should contain basicly only items on and directly refering to the ancient roman border. A separate category will provide a better visibility of the ancient Roman border(s) imho. I have enough enthousiast members to start and maintain it :-) Suggestions are most welcome (may also be in Dutch :-))))
  19. I see no harm in logging an earthcache if the site was visited before the earth cache was published. An earthcache is imho not finding a cache and leaf your name in the logbook. It's just about geology and Earth science. If visited and correct answers (and pictures as an extra prove), log it. But a stated earlier, caches can be easy logged without having visited the site, But then Who is fooling who? :-)
  20. euh not quite as wiki has : https://nl.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rijksmonument https://nl.wikipedia.org/wiki/Provinciaal_monument https://nl.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gemeentelijk_monument ......
  21. I don't get the point yet of why a category Called: National monuments should be expanded with monuments with are NOT national..... That would mean the the National monuments should be renamed and redefined. If that is what you all wish. OK. point taken. It's perhaps also difficult to explain in English why two Dutch different cat's are very different :-) For those experienced in Dutch, I guess that the following link will make it more clear: https://nl.wikipedia.org/wiki/Monument_(erfgoed)
  22. Yep I'm only talking about allowing an ADDITIONAL Google Earth screen shot (if a poster likes to do that!) and by now means any ohter type of internet pics.
  23. in addition to my topic: Google says on: https://www.google.com/permissions/geoguidelines/attr-guide.html xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Attribution Guidelines for Google Maps and Google Earth All uses of Google Maps and Google Earth Content must provide attribution to both Google and our data providers. We do not approve of any use of content without proper attribution, in any circumstance. We require attribution when the Content is shown. and Thanks for considering Google Maps, Google Earth and Street View for your project! These guidelines are for non-commercial use except for the limited use cases described below; if you want to use Google Maps, Google Earth, or Street View for other commercial purposes, please contact the Google Maps for Work sales team. “Commercial purposes” means “use for sale or revenue-generating purposes”. xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Allthough GS is a commercial organisation I don't think that an additional GE picture wil generate revenue of any kind. It may however generate revenu for Google as GE is perhaps used more frequent...
