  1. What browser are you using? Have you tried using a different browser? I'd try deleting all cookies related to geocaching.com and then log back into the site. How to delete those specific cookies will depend on what browser you're using though.
  2. You could try submitting a ticket to the support department here: Link I'd include a link to the thread you referenced above where they previously set up a redirect so that the old urls would continue to work.
  3. When you say you logged off, do you mean that you clicked on the "Log out" link in the top right corner? If so, that's the problem. When you click that link the cookie gets deleted and you have to log back in the next time you go to the site. If you just close the browser window, you stay logged in and it should remember you the next time.
  4. Here's another thread <Link> on a similar subject from a few months ago that may answer your question.
  5. My only Geocoin recently got retrieved after sitting for nearly 2 years in a hard cache I placed it in. I received an email notification when it was retrieved but nothing when it was dropped in another cache a few days later.
  6. If they're inactive on geocaching.com I'd say odds are pretty good that they're inactive on other sites as well. If that's not the case then they should have archived their cache on geocaching.com...they'd have nobody but themselves to be upset at.
  7. IMHO both the # of user(s) watching this cache feature and the Members Only Cache Audit Log feature should be removed. They're both of limited value and cause more trouble than they're worth.
  8. I see the the html is now broken on the cache pages but not in the search results. Example here: http://www.geocaching.com/seek/nearest.asp...;lon=-82.923417 Is it not possible to strip the html out? FWIW I'm not intentionally singling OzGuff out...that was just the easiest example I could find.
  9. They have their webservers configured to redirect geocaching.com urls to www.geocaching.com ones but for some reason they don't have them configured to pass the query parameters (the part after the question mark) from the old url to the new one. So for instance http://geocaching.com/seek/cache_details.a...5f-944c6b366dfc becomes http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_details.aspx Where are you seeing urls without the www?
  10. Doh...I see it now. Never paid attention to that before.
  11. Where is the "go to last unread" button exactly?
  12. It's on the My Account Details page under "Account Options".
  13. It looks like you can post in their IP.Board Feedback Forum.
  14. Hmmm. That's lame. I guess they don't care what users of their forum software think or want to know?
  15. You might want to try posting on the Invision Power Board Forums to see if anybody there can tell you how to do what you want to do. (or if it's even possible) IPB is the forum software that Groundspeak uses.
  16. You can move the map without it being refreshed by using the arrows up in the top left corner instead of using the hand to drag the map. Use the arrows to get you close to where you want to be and the hand for the final adjustment(s). It would be nice if they could add the option to disable refreshes though.
  17. Interesting that it doesn't count my reply as a reply...I guess because it assumes the first post is the orignal post...
  18. The forum glitched so I can't see your post (please repost) so all I've got to say is...GO GIANTS!!! BEAT LA!! My father is a die-hard Dodger fan FYI.
  19. No worries, we were all newbies once. There's a link on the right side of your Account Details page that says "Set up Notifications." You'll need to set up separate notification for each type of cache or event that you'd like to be notified about. Use the power for good, not for evil!
  20. Here's a 15 month old thread with somebody else looking for the same thing: http://forums.Groundspeak.com/GC/index.php?showtopic=150371 I'd guess they're probably harder to find now. Google found a place in Australia that claims to have them in stock: http://www.sphere.net.au/site/products.php?cat=geo_acc
  21. I've seen plenty of caches that nobody is watching. In fact I'd say most of the newly published caches I get notifications for have nobody watching them yet.
  22. It's been that way as long as I can remember. It seems to only happen with pics posted by the TB or Cache owner. Here are a couple cache gallery pics that do the the same thing: http://www.geocaching.com/seek/gallery.asp...5f-508162a283ae http://www.geocaching.com/seek/gallery.asp...2b-4fae549d084f
  23. If you search for posts by a certain person and set it to sort the results by Poster Name all the posts started by that person would be grouped together at least.
  24. I wonder if that could have anything to do with the forum becoming slow or unusable (too many connections error) occasionally. Maybe Google's crawler is trying to suck down the content too quickly and overloading the server.
  25. The District of Columbia is a district, not a state.
