can anyone confirm if an 8gb sdhc card will work in a vista hcx or if 4gb indeed is the limit, ive read elsewhere that this is possible also is there any way to have more than the one gmapsupp file in the garmin directory or is this just with the 60 csx? thanks for any help i have searched a wee bit

i like the one on my vista hcx, does the job and means can just keep the backup compass in the backpack wouldnt buy a gps without one now

Hi is there any PDA that would let me use my etrex H (serial conn) along with memory map software? i know, i know, i should just upgrade to the etrex with mapping on it but ive got the memory map maps and they are decent detail so dont fancy having to buy maps again thanks for any help

ive got an etrex H, it does the job no probs more confidence wandering off track as you can always find your way back works fine under trees here as long as youve got a good initial lock i use it in conjunction with memory map on the PC and OS maps i got a cable for 13 quid off ebay which is straight USB no adapter needed, the adapters can be quite dodgy also can make your own cable for free, plenty of guides out there if you can solder

no need to scroll to the mark page, hold down enter for a second or two and it loads the mark screen

ah right i did read about having to let it update the almanac or something by leaving it in the open which i did for about 45 mins but also went on a walk up the hills for about 4hrs with clear sky above me there also as the battery gets low on these does it become less accurate? im using 2500 rechargeables perhaps im just being para but it does seem to be different

I bought a second hand etrex h, has only been on for 50 odd hrs according to the test screen thingy so it was version 2.60 when it came and i could go into the garden (highlands of Scotland) and it would get down to a steady 10ft accuracy no i have updated it to the latest 3.10 it seems to be not as accurate and only goes down to 13-17ft which is weird as before it had no probs going down to 10ft lock and staying there is there any reason for this ? is there different updates for different etrex? like US and UK versions (im in the UK) would probs prefer to roll it back if this is possible thanks for any help
