  6. I work for a Red Cross chapter in Eugene, OR with a temporary assignment for the disaster response in Baton Rouge and then possibly Lake Charles after Oct 15. I won't have much free time, but I hope to get out one day and find at least one cache. Hope to see some of you on the hunt, even though we have very serious business to take care of, we are trained to remember take care of ourselves, too. For some it's a movie or a book, I hope to get an hour of caching Mr Bug

  8. My name is Mr. Bug and I'm a bugaholic. I used to just put out bugs on weekends. But somehow, it wasn't enough. I started sneaking out from work and placing bugs during the week. Somehow, before I knew it, I was placing bugs in caches in the morning. "Heck, it's noon somewhere in the caching world, isn't it?" I can quit anytime I want, I just don't feel like it just yet. I joined a 12 step group, but it was no use. That familiar manila envelope was waiting for me when I got home today. Another 24 larvae. When they hatch, that will be 344. But I don't inhale. 2bugs www.2bugs.org
  9. Please add 2bugs to your list. We should be able to join the 1K club by the end of this year.

  11. We would like to see all the stats on one page. I hope we are not forced to move our Webcam caches and Earthcache to Waymarking. We have very little interest Waymarking except for the impact it looks like it will have on Geocaching. I'm not saying we are anti Waymarking, it just has no appeal for us. I'm sure some folks will enjoy it. 2bugs

  14. Wigwam burners were used in early sawmills to burn waste wood. By the late 1960s several factors led to their demise. First of all the air pollution concerns and secondly the price of fiber made it economically feasable to use the scraps that were formerly incinerated. The wigman burner is a relic of a past age and they are dissappearing rapidly. There are still many of these rusting hulks all over the Pacific Nothwest and many other areas of the country. You can see a good picture of a burner at http://www.ancilnance.com/html/262.htm 2bugs

  16. Don't know what kml is but it sure sounds promising. Yikes! KML , TOS, BFD, PDQ, man I'm in over my head. Be careful what you ask for, huh. Time to call my techie son and ask for help. Thanks to everyone that responded. This was my first attempt here. it is gratifying to know what a great resource this is. 2bugs www.2bugs.org
  17. We would like to know if there is a automated way to grab the mileage off a TB page and have it plugged into a cell on an Exel spreadsheet that we use to keep track of our little critters. We have a large number of TBs (300+) so manually entering each bugs' mileage every month or so is a real chore. Any help at all is appreciated. 2bugs www.2bugs.org
  18. I used to subscribe to the theory that the uglier a bug was, the better its chances of survival were. One of our early bugs, Gonzo, (TBHHFK) made 1 hop before an 8 cache wonder grabbed him. Gonzo's mate, Miss Piggy, met a similar fate. However, after reviewing the missing bugs on various TB graveyards and looking at what we have that is MIA I have decided that it is pure random luck. We have over 300 bugs in circulation and our share of MIAs. The dead ones run the gamut from unique to mundane. I gave up trying to figure a strategy. One of our first bugs (TBHATC) made one hop and then sat motionless for more than seven months before surfacing in Europe. It is now alive and well in Denmark. One strategy that helps is to write anyone who has had a bug for more than two months and just say something like "Any idea whatever happened to XXXXX TB?...just curious" Cranky notes get nowhere. We are still working on the stink bomb TB with a sixty day motion sensor. 2bugs www.2bugs.org
  19. We have quite a few travel bugs. To keep track of all the little buggers, we put the data into Excel. We would like to add a cell for each one with its total mileage and then be able to sum up the column for a running total of all the TBs mileage. Is there a way to do this in an automated fashion? it would be a big chore to have to manually update the mileage on each bug in order to get a grand total. Any help at all would be appreciated 2bugs www.2bugs.org
  20. We would like to order 3 coins when they become available 2bugs www.2bugs.org
