Hi, I've recently updated the software on my GPSMAP 62s and now I have an annoying problem. Wondering if anyone else has encountered this and any potential solutions.
I have this problem with both the recreational and geocaching profiles. I haven't tried the others. If I am on the map page and move the cursor to a geocache and select it as the navigation waypoint the device automatically shows the compass screen. This is okay. The problem is that if I want to see a different page I press the QUIT or PAGE button to cycle to the next page. But instead of cycling to the next page in the page sequence from the compass page, the device still thinks that it is on the map page.
My page sequence is Main Menu, Map, Compass, Trip, Elevation. So if I am on the Map page and I move the cursor to a geocache and select it the device automatically shows the compass screen. Now I want to go back to the map so I press QUIT to cycle from the compass to map page. But when the page cycle appears it shows Map and cycles to Main Menu. I then have to press PAGE to get back to the map.
This extra key press and time waiting for the page change is really annoying especially when you do that several times per day when caching.
Any known solutions for this?
