From what I think I understand, "collecting" is either no different from "discovering", beyond the coin being unable to be virtually/digitally picked up and moved; or it means that you're allowed to take possession of the physical item, and keep it, but the original owner still gets all of the travel logs through a proxy? I need this explained in way that a child could understand, please? I'm not so good with concepts that I can't visualize either with metaphorical comparison, or literally see right in front of me.

Should I also put a card with the proxy explaining some of this? Like "*name of proxy item*, proxy of/for *name of item code is for*"?

I have a few unique custom items that I want to turn into a trackable, but not enough to warrant the purchase of 50 codes! I also want several of the geocoins for sale, but I don't want to risk losing them by sending them out. I thought maybe I could use the coin codes for my unique items, but I'm worried that will cause confusion. My question is, when I redeem a code, and the cache page for my trackable is created, does the name for item on the page show that it's the item I bought, or is there an option to rename the item? Like say for example I buy the CITO coin, would the cache page say "CITO Coin (item ID number)", or could I rename it? I just don't want people looking for the coin itself, and overlooking my home made item, or thinking the coin has gone missing, separating it from the tag, and keeping my home made trackable.

I've been GeoCaching since August last year. My ex got me into it, we used his GPS unit. I've now found some new friends to go with, but we don't have the money for a GPS, or an app for our cell phones. Is there any way to get or use GPS on my phone? It IS internet ready, I have unlimited web access. It's a Samsung thru Sprint. Is there any way to use mobile GPS by going to a site on my phone's web browser? Is there any way at all that I could use my cell as a GPS without have to pay for it?
