  1. Thanks for all the replys... At least I am not the only one!
  2. Now that it is nicer weather in the NE, I find that I am caching a lot less. I have a lot of other activities that fill my time.. Thinking about it their must be others that primarily cache in the colder months, think about it no ticks, poison ivy, allergies, snakes, etc.... I kind of miss the cold weather caching even though the items above don't bother me with the exception of this years allergy season! Any others like this?
  3. I also have a Camelbak M.U.L.E that gets the most use. I have quite a few others but this is perfect for 95% of the time.. Just purchased the redesigned model and their has been a lot of improvements over the older style.. I am keeping my older one but the newer style is Highly recommended!!
  4. Does anyone have a Surefire U2? It is a variable 5Watt LED Surefire U2 Microprocessor regulation and six levels of output available on demand to meet any task. High-output or long runtime: now you can have both in one rugged LED flashlight. Constructed of aerospace grade aluminum with a rugged military specification hard-anodized finish, and powered by two lithium batteries (10-year shelf life), the U2 Ultra features a five-watt LED (Light Emitting Diode) and the extended runtime typical of LED flashlights. The U2 features a body-mounted selector ring that allows the user to choose one of six output levels: from a battery saving two lumens of light—perfect for finding your keys in the dark—to a retina-searing 80 lumens at its highest setting. The U2 is equipped with a click-on/off tailcap pushbutton switch that gives the user the option of momentary activation (for self-defense use or emergency signaling) or the convenience of a constant-on “click” switch. The U2 also features microprocessor regulation circuitry to match the LED's current requirements with the battery's output to maintain a more consistent level of light output for the useable life of the batteries (as opposed to unregulated lights, which are subject to a steady decline in light intensity beginning shortly after activation). The U2 produces over 40 hours of useful light on the lowest setting. Unlike most LED flashlight manufacturers -- who inflate the light output and usable runtimes of their LEDs -- SureFire provides realistic output and runtime specifications based on scientifically obtained measurements. Although any LED -- including those produced by SureFire -- can continue to produce negligible light output for over 100 hours, the amount of useful light produced is of a shorter duration.
  5. I have used a Black Diamond Zenix for quite a while which is great for hands free work however, I now use my surefire more often unless it is long term dedicated night work. Here is some information: Black Diamond Zenix
  6. Has anyone ever night cached with night vision? It sure would not attract anyone however; if someone indeed did see you, I guess you would look pretty guilty of something and freaky lol.. Anyone ever do it?
  7. Wow, I did not know this would be such a controversial subject! I did purchase my new Surefire and man I am glad I did! Most amazing little light I have ever seen. VERY satisfied and money well spent. As long as I do not loose it will no doubt last a lifetime and perform exceptionally!
  8. Ok thanks all for the replies. I have decided to go with surefire specifically, the E1L Outdoorsman (E1L-HA-WH). Small, powerful 25 lumens, indestructible, no worry about replacing bulbs as this is LED. Thanks! Oh, Here is the link if anyone is interested: E1L Does anyone have one?
  9. Ok all- What is the best possible flashlight for Geocaching? Features must be totally weather resistant, small for easy carry, Powerful to see in some of those little tree trunks BEFORE you stick your hand in there and finally reliability. Well what do you think? Thanks!
