Was chatting to Red lobster last night and we were qutie proud that there is a large area east of our town that is now clear of caches where we have found everything. Its kinda now kicked in my OCD in that I want to find all the caches in and around the town..... I know alot of regular cachers have done this. I remember one chap at the last meet saying there are no caches within 10 miles of him he hasnt found. So my question for you is if you have done something similar and how big is your radius?

This is an amusing story that happened to me yesterday. My girlfriend (Red_Lobster) and I were out caching near Banbury in the UK. And we were following the map to the next cache in the D'Abby Dash series. We went down a single track road as a shortcut. Wasnt a good short cut either. Soon after we are being followed by a rather large police vechile and near the next cache the lights come on.......... "Bo**ocks" I think is what I said. We then entered into a comical low speed cache winding through the countryside while I panicked trying to find a safe spot to pull over. Oh wait theres a layby..... no its a junction. In the end I panicked and just parked on a gentle bend wondering if I was gonna end up in jail for drug trafficking, stealing my own car, murdering someone, etc. So in my blind panic I thought id either open the window or get out the car. In the UK we dont tend to carry guns so the cops dont start screaming if you move around while they are approaching. So in the end I choose neither and open the door and sit there....... plank. "Saw you coming out of *** lane. Whatcha been doing up there?" "Ummm we are geocaching and took a really bad shortcut" "That explains it. OK thanks just there some abadoned farm building up there" "Its a public road though right?" "Yes it is." I then asked him some directions as we werent familiar with the area and we went our seperate ways. And that was it...... I got stopped by the cops for driving down a road. Must have been a slow day. But like I've always said. If you encounter the boys in blue while caching and are polite and honest when answering questions more often than not you are on your way within minutes.

Ok right heres the situation. I bought a load of coins and TBs. And started placing them in caches though when i got home I realsied one of them werent registered. I have no idea what happened. But before I could get back to it, somebody took it and immediately registered it in their name and gave it a mission. Ive spoken to this person and they are cool to give it back. The issue is.......... Can we reassign it to me from him? A way of perhaps deactivating it and then reactivating it as mine?

Im stuck on listing my cache. How do you inplant images intot eh description? I tried using imageshack but it dont come out right.

Well its decided. I looked at the options in the UK but felt that I wanted to spend an afternoon doing 1 cache int he middle of nowhere unspoilt by hoooomans with cracking scenary. So I managed to get Flights - £32 Car Rental - £54 Hotel - £64 For 3 days and 2 nights in............. .. .. .. .. Cork, southern Ireland. Have a look at some of the caches an hour SW of the city. Man it looks amazing. BUT can I jsut say a MASSIVE thanks to the input that you folks have come up with!

Folks. I am loving the feedback but for instance i had a look at a price comp site for the Oregon 550T and nearly spat out my drink when i saw the price. Whats the best one I can get for under £150?

Wow I hadnt seent hat before. maybe I dont need a gps. When you use it how long doe sit take to recharge and when its finished is it just like having charged it from a plug?

Nice stuff folks. I really like the iphone setup though. Just a shame I cant recharge it while caching.

I am currently using my iphone but with walking between and searching I max out at 10 caches a day. I want to be getting into it more and up to 20-30 on a long day. So whats the best GPS in your opinion for caching in the UK? Most of the posts I have seen cover the US nicely......

Sorry to tell you guys but my 3 leggeg midget friend and I broke the record yesterday. We did 666 caches in 24 hours. We didnt take a pen though so we didn't sign any of the logs. All joking aside. You lot need to get a life. Well done to the guys/gals who got 413. I am jealous of your stamina and will. As much as I try I cannot find anyone who wants to do a 12+ hour sesh caching. Well done again. I know its not some people cup of tea but there you go. I get alot of pleasure from planning the caches, reading logs, decrpyting clues etc. Im glad im not the only one.
