I don't know what you bought, but that's no Venture HC LOL Thank you for correcting me. That day I purchased 2 GPS units. The first one was a Magellan. It had the SD memory beside the batteries. I returned it and got the etrex Venture HC as a replacement. I am STILL really enjoying it. Thanks again and I apollogize for any inconvience.

I just purchased an etrex Venture HC on oct.11. I am really liking it. If you open the battery compartment there is a SD Memory expansion slot. Just load your extra maps on the SD Memory card and slip it in. Happy caching.
