I actually like the idea of the cache type and did have a go at making one but found it just too complicated so in the end gave up. I think if there was some easy to use software then people may give it a go but at the moment I don’t see it catching on.

I’ve been to the last few they are always an enjoyable evening. Just depends on the date but at the moment March is quite free. Andy

No still not working

I’m in Florida at present and have been using the free maps, they don’t have a lot of detail but there is enough to give you an idea where the cache is. I’ve also been using MS Streets and Trips which also helps.

This does seem to be the case my gallery has over 2,000 images in it so now takes quite a time to load so not much use anymore.

I think the first cache in the UK was GC4E England’s First placed by Jeremy. If you go to the page there is a link to the history of the cache. The oldest still active cache is GCF0 Scotland’s First which was placed on 15TH December 2000

Alan Don’t think my reply was impolite but did think the op was a bit out of order having a go at our hard working unpaid reviewers.

Looks to me that the owner did a maintenance visit on the 10th June and replaced it, and the only SBA log after that is yours today. So unless the reviewers actually go out to see it’s there how are they to know the owner did not visit? I’m sure after this thread they will have a look All the best Andy

Had a similar problem on my PDA and its happened twice. For some reason I had two SD cards showing in file explorer. One called SD Card and the other SD Card2. To cure the problem I took out my SD card, re set the PDA and then in file explorer deleted the SD card that was still showing. Then inserted my SD card and all worked. Andy

I think you first need to remove all the caches from it then go into edit the bookmark and the option to archive it should now be active. Andy

For me it’s a matter of time. I really enjoyed this years Mega and the supporting events, however I also attend smaller events such as the South Wales and Oxford camping events so time is limited. For me one Mega a year where I have to travel and stay away is enough. Very much looking forward to the next lets keep the Mega special.

While checking my GSAK database I noticed two caches (GC1ENNT and GC1ENNK) which were published on 29th July and are now un published. Both have been found three times. The reason they were un published seems to be that they were virtuals. From cache page :- **To show you visited the cache email the owner with the location of the roll of honour.** This is an old fashioned virtual cache with no log to be signed. However, I am advised that these day a cache must have a logbook and virtuals are no longer allowed therefore I will add a logbook within 2 months. My question, why un publish and not archive as the finders stats are now incorrect i.e for one finder their mystery cache count show 4 but when you look at caches found you see only two. Just curious Andy

Having read the “Special Guidelines” of the coin forum I can see no reason for a ban without a warning. To me this is just heavy handed and over the top. The mod that took the action states their occupation as Diplomat………..I don’t think so
