  1. Who is this " Dan-Oh"?? Oh yeah, he is this twisted individual somewhere in Southern California putting out some really fiendish, hairpulling caches. Maybe its something in the water they drink down there!! Actually, it was some of his caches that gave the push to try and throw out some fiendish ones. I just put out"Delta", not too long ago, which is a 4 x4 treated post about 56 inches high and I carved out a rectangular box to hold a 2" diameter tube, 7 inches long. I sunk in four magnets and attached a legal size aluminum "no trespassing" sign on it. I even had a GC tie his dog to the post while he searched the area around it... I have some pics but don't know how to upload them, so if youre interested just drop me an email... Hey Dan-Oh!! Howz about kicking down some pics??? You can email them to my sister in Northern Cali...does that count???
  2. Just wanted to let the other Charger fans know that I feel your pain. I am in Hawaii right now but I diligently removed myself from the sun, beach, and caching to watch the game . If any of you get a chance to do some caching out here, there are some terrific views to be had. A lot of the caches do take you on some pretty mean trails so I kinda left those for another time although I have read that some caches bring you to sites where old WW II planes have crashed and the wreckage is still there. I did get pay back for Project Delta and the thorns as I did a cache called Makapuu bug jar and it took me to a huge Keave tree with thorns 3/4 to 1 inch long. Of course I went caching "Hawaiian Style" - Flip/Flops!! Needles to say that me, my son, and my sons mom all got stuck. I guess it didn't help that it was my sons second cache find and my sons mom's first (welcome to caching ) I did notice that TT found Discovery This under lots of water but in a dry state (guess those ammo cans are bomber......must find more!!!!!) I will have to move it to higher ground when I get back on Wednesday, hopfully the rapids haven't swept it away.... cya
  3. Very Cool pics! I used to live in Ft. Lauderdale and I remeber standing on the roof of my parents house and watching the space shuttle take off from Titusville. That is about some 150 + miles away but we were able to make out the glow of the booster rockets and could clearly see the contrails. The best part is when it did it's "roll" and it seemed to fly parallel to the earths surface as it broke into the upper atmosphere.....
  4. I would have to agree with Chuy and Trail Gators on this one. A FTF should really be logged AFTER it has been posted. Sure you could get lucky and stumble across a freshly hidden cache, or even a multi, and log the FTF (as long as it has been posted and its up for grabs). If getting an FTF was to be that easy then I guess I would bring my friends with me right when I hid it so they could sign the log right away, or better yet....perhaps they could sign the log before I left the house. [ ], Anyways, the hike sounds like a lot of fun, I will be making some time here soon to try and bag it.
  5. When you check the found box in Cachemate it puts all the logs that you just found and haven't logged into a "found" folder. I'm assuming that you can output that folder as a text file and then cut and paste the contents of that file into this web app. Anyhow, let's experiment and maybe we can come up with a slick process! I am going to try it out next time I go out caching. I know that when I go out and find 15-20 caches it takes me at least 1-2 hours to log them all in. If I could cut that time in half I'd be one happy cacher! Sweet!! I am glad it wasn't just me taking that long to log in my cache finds. I am going to look at that web app too, it seems like a great idea to speed things up. You know what that means?? More time Caching, less time inputing!!!
  6. I have Friday free, can fit one or two in my Jeep. I have a stock Jeep Wrangler, don't know if it will be enough... Here is what you are up against: It is not as bad as it looks - Really. I see people do it in stock vehicles all the time, and in a Jeep, it should be a snap (and I don't mean snap, like Jeep parts breaking). Make sure you check out Thank God I Made It on the way in. There are several others in the area as well. RM About how long would it take to get to the trailhead from Escon? I see stock Jeeps have made it before, mine is stock so I am interested in doing this cache. Is anyone interested in getting a small group together and making a run out there perhaps in a couple of weeks??
  7. Just wanted to drop a line and say hello on this thread. I got into geocaching about 6 months ago and I am having a blast. Hope to meet some fellow cachers at the next event. I missed the Chili cookoff in Borrego and I heard it was a blast. Just got back from some night caching with D-Jollymon!! laterz...
