about scarabs cache... thats awesome! I'd really like to replicate this! @mddbkzr, I cant visualize your take on it, I guess I dont see how that would bring the cache above the point where the string is, also about hard hides, thats what rating are for always take that into account, several times I've found myself looking for a cache for a while, one with a recent log, so I have it in my head that"its here somewhere" then look at the 4 star rating and realize its gonna be a good one, and for me, at least, keeps me in this game... if geocaching was just a buch of lpc's and rusted altoids tins I would have been bored with caching after a month... just my POV

I haven't found anything too crazy, aside from what I deem as sub par swag... but on my first caching experience ever (found about it one night, saw one near home and headed out) I found a dildo on a stick propped up against the stump the cache was in... I remember thinking "Is this part of the cache?"

you could always get drunk, I'm pretty sure that will help ya out...

I say go for it remove all but one or two pins (non serrated or spooled) since you are the owner of the lock, and giving written permission to open the lock, its not illegal... the only thing i would suggest is making or buying just a simple tension wrench and hook or rake, and ATTACHING it to your cache, so you can avoid people carrying around lock picks... great idea! might have to borrow this one from ya, as I have all the components laying around...

Ehhh... we're gettin away from the point... I have a 40, it rocks.. but none the less get your friend a 30, if thats in your budget (20 is a bit of a relic)... you'll be rewarded with a cachin buddy (priceless) and the 30 will become a backup for you both one day... ask for an umbrella from him and get those shoes muddy, who says you cant cache in the rain...

how do you setup text notifications? is it some type of email to text forwarding?

funny thread went too jail for the first time on memorial day weekend, (awesome) while looking for a cache... apparently I had a warrant... still haven't been back too that one... here locally there is a BART officer turned cacher... found the cache where she busted a guy, and now she does it... go figure LOL

LOL... I do agree that nano's should have they're own place... for the record, I don't mind nano's... they make for great legs, (get your mind out of the gutter on multi's... and other "near virtual' locations...

love my PN-40 BUT... it's compass is no where as responsive as my friends oregon... when he rotates the oregon, it almost instantaneous, my PN-40 has a lot of lag anyone else get that?

where do you get the "Geo-Caps" From??? I made them with photoshop, unused bottle cap's from the brew shop, a lot of patience and a few beers if you have any questions about the process... shoot! im also happy to email anyone the alignment template in compressed .psd format... (this was the bane of this project: printer alignment)

wow, thanks for the kind words... more time than money, between design and printer alignment issues, I probably have about 14 solid hours... im a bit anal LOL each unit is under 25 cents! If you like what you see, go to your local home brew shop, and get the caps, avery makes the 1in round labels, (walmart, target, staples) and email me if you need the photoshop template for alignment Chrysalides, got the bags, but thanks for the offer! This little community is awesome!
