  1. See what I mean? More get well wishes! Thanks a bunch from "the leg":
  2. Some of you may be familiar with my broken leg geo-saga and therefore, I won't continue to bore you with the details. Since my accident and subsequent surgery I've received numerous get well emails from geocachers that I've met, geocached with and some I've never even met. The geocaching community is largely made up of really fine people who are gracious and caring. I wanted to take this opportunity to thank all of you for your thoughtfulness and caring. A special thanks to Bugeye59 who drove 2-1/2 hrs. to pick up the travel bugs I brought from the west coast so they could continue to move on their way. Unbeknownst to me, "Everybody Loves Nerves Travel Bug" showed up at a recent GeoMeet and has already had 50 signers. I am utterly overwhelmed with the kindness of geocachers. I don't even know how to respond...
  3. Thanks for the link! And by the way, the cacher in the case which I mentioned earlier did not die, but ended up with some serious injuries, according to the reports which I have read. Someone has already scheduled an event cache in Mr Chamberlin's name: In Memory of Mr. James Max Chamberlain edited because I didn't read enough This is a very honorable and admirable gesture. Which geocache did Mr. Chamberlain die at?
  4. Nope - they didn't have GPS. Maybe when we buy a new GPSr we should donate the old ones to our town rescue ambulances. Hey! I kinda like that idea. But then, if the person in trouble doesn't have a GPSr or know their coordinates they still wouldn't be able to find them. My cell phone has GPS capability which is a real good thing.
  5. Thanks Polar B's for providing the correct link. I was having physical therapy before I could get back and correct the link. So, let's hear from others who have injured themselves. I'd like to hear of incidents that occurred while geocaching.
  6. Now that I've broken my leg and dislocated my ankle I have lots of time on my hands. So, I'm just curious how many other people have had accidents while geocaching? I know that a man died while geocaching in Texas and have heard of other folks who have broken bones, sprained ankles, etc. Please provide the details of how your injury/accident occurred - were you looking at your GPSr and not the trail? Did you slip, fall, trip? What is the exact nature of your injuries and have you gone back to geocaching? It was this cache that did me in: http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_detai...f2-48dbb9d09a48[/url] You can read my log for the highlights of what happened.
  7. I think it will be fine if you start it anywhere in Taiwan. You can give it a goal to either go to Rhode Island where I live or to Denver for the TAS reunion. Either goal is fine and whichever one you want is okay with me.
  8. I am emailing this to all my non-geocaching friends who think I have a "problem" looking for tupperware in the woods.

I'm back in New England now and just wanted to say that I had a really great time meeting all of you: Allanon, Anonymous and his dad (Tory?), Recdiver, Mtn10Bike, Andrew & his wife, and Talk2Animals. Hope I mentioned everyone - if not, I aplogize. Geocaching with all of you was alot of fun and I'm so glad we could all get together to do this. Thanks again!

I'm probably going to bring a sandwich and a drink. Can't go more than a few hours without eating or I might get cranky I keep thinking it's going to be real cold at the Pass. You guys will laugh when I tell you the highest peak in RI is 800 feet. No, I'm not a native Rhode Islander...at one time I lived in Washington too. So, we're meeting at the Park and Ride, right?

Hmmmmm...I have nothing but a TB from Finland and other TBs from New England no USA geocoins. I can buy some pastries if that will do the trick.
  14. Okay - that is good. What will the goal be for the TB? Do you want it to go to the TAS alumni reunion in Denver?

Thanks Moun10Bike. I don't know where you're located but am willing to meet you and take your Gocoin to the APE cache. I have a bunch of New England and European bugs to drop there as well. I can meet you in Federal Way Sat or somewhere on the way to the APE cache on Sun. Don't know which is the better way to I 90 from Federal Way. Would it be I 5, 167 or 18? Can someone give me an idea? If I take 5 or 167 then we could meet at Usual Meeting Spot.
