  1. Count me in please. I don't have any of the coins you mentioned. The number of coins I would like would depend on total costs involved. I'll keep checking regularly for more info.
  2. If someone wanted to design and have some trackable personal Geocoins made in this country who would you approach and what are the guidelines (if any)?
  3. Does anyone know how much the postage costs are to th UK please?
  4. I have a Legend C, but wouldn't take the chance, and switch it off. Only takes a few seconds to switch on and aquire.
  5. Apart from using your GPSr's for the obvious benefits they provide for geocaching and walking, does anyone have any really unusual uses for their units? Also, does anyone have an inordinate number of GPSr's (like a collector)?
  6. Introduced to me by a friend. Hummed and harred for a while before giving in and buying a GPSr. Never looked back.
  7. Conducting a search on Google I found an old dead link - http://mobile.guk2.com but it seems to be out of action. Couldn't find anything else.
  8. Just checked on my mobile - it was wap.geocaching.com
  9. I know Moote, I was kidding also. A belated many happy returns of the day by the way. Hope you had a good un!
  10. Why would you want to NICK a perfectly ordinary NAME like mine when you have a superb nick all of your own?
  11. I thought you were also known as the knights who say 'eci eci eci petang!'

  13. Sony Ericsson K750i on Vodafone in UK works just great, will be able to log finds in the field now.
  14. WOW, i'm glad we don't have to worry about bears in the UK!! Anyone had any real close encounters with bears? And escaped unscathed?
  15. I know alma, Learned Gerbil pointed the thread out to me earlier in the posts, I hadn't noticed it previously. Thanks.
  16. It certainly would KB, the Swedish cacheing experience!
  17. LOL - along with 'Ulrikakakakaka!
  18. Thanks Learned Gerbil, I hadn't seen that one.
  19. Browsing through the UK forum i've noticed some pretty cool and unusual nicknames. There are some users that choose to use their real names, but some are very unusual. How and why did you choose these nicknames? I chose mine quite a few years ago - from the programme Shooting Stars with Vic Reeves and Bob Mortimer - the name is associated with the game 'The Dove from Above'. I thought it would be interesting to find out a little more about each others nicknames.
  20. Sounds like a great idea, count me in please.
  21. Acer N30 has a USB host feature which enables you to connect USB devices that it can recognise. There are also some other PDA's/Pocket Pc's out there that have this function also.
  22. Thanks for that Muddi, i've heard of podcasts and downloaded a few but hadn't heard of the Geocachers ones. I'll download some and have a listen, cheers.
  23. I'd have to agree with most of the comments in this thread, Memory Map is certainly a superp mapping package ideally suited for Geocaching. I personally have all the 1:50,000 and 1:25,000 charts for the UK and generally use the 1:50,000 for caches. The 1:25,000 is ideal for planning walks in areas where you need to plan your route really well but as I said the 1:50,000 is detailed enough for Geocaching. I suppose it comes down to personal preference in the end but there's no doubt it's a good route to take (pardon the pun!)- paperless caching.
