  1. Hi someone had put a photo of the hiding place of my cach, which to me has spoilt the point of geocaching, is there a way to delete it.
  2. I was out geocaching last week and had to put my hand into holes to get the cache out and I was wondering has anybody ever been bitten my snakes or spiders. I'm petrified of snakes I really am, I don't know why as I have only seen them from a distant swimming across a lake in this country and one very dead one in Aussie. With the risk of these false widow spiders now in the UK that can leave nasty wounds (one in the papers last week) so has anybody been bitten ??
  3. Hi yes the GPS is set up to WGS84 and hddd° mm.mmm, I have been using GPS for the last 16 years so I'm no stranger to that, when I got to the cache place the first time I took the coords from the road, I then went down the path to come in from the other way both coords matched. A week later I was passing and took the coords again, still OK, when I placed the cache I did it once again to make sure same coords . The GPS has been fine when looking for other caches, so it can't be the GPS so I'm baffled too.
  4. Hi I placed a new cache out and checked the coordinates three time before getting it reviewed and on my GPS I was getting within 3 feet of it, yet when people found it I was told it was a long way out up to 96 meters away. Now when going after other caches using the same GPS it is spot on so it can't be down to the GPS so what's going on.
  5. Been a member since 2001, but only just got back into it the last 31 days and in that time I have replaced five logs due to being full up or damp/waterlogged doesn't anybody carry spare logs with them, or doesn't the cache owner check them to see if there OK from time to time, it's not a complaint, as logs only cost time to make. I now have a selection of logs all different sizes doesn't anybody else do this or am I the only one.

  15. The "E-maps" are not waterproof, anyway the story of the "orange juice" I use my GPS when I go out in my Kayak and keep it in a "Aquapac" which is totally waterproof, all day long the GPS was a wash with salt water and working fine, I also keep my money there as well. On the way home I wanted some stuff from the shops so I took out the GPS and stuffed it in my other dry bag were I keep my food and drink this was a very bad decision for when I got home my GPS was swimming in an inch of orange juice. The moral of this story is never take a GPS out of it's waterproof case until you get home and buy a separate waterproof case for the money !!! Ps the new case was £16.99 a wee bit cheaper than the GPS at £83.08p Pps Can I put a Cache in the water !!!! Richard
  16. I was browsing though the messages and I saw a posting on broken GPS, well I poured orange juice over my E-map .... how that's another story, but I phoned Garmin and got a replacement the same day at a cost of £83.08p and a new one year warranty The address and phone number are in the MapSource book at the back or :- Garmin (Europe) Ltd Unit 5 the Quadrangle Abbey park Romsey Hampshire SO51 9DL Tel 01794 505565 Ps when I said I got my one the same day .....well I only live less than two miles away so I suppose that does help Richard
