  1. I can't guarantee anything but it'd be helpful if you'd use a single post to identify which annoying bugs you are referring to.
  2. Just realized you asked about the first bullet. That is so those who view the archived waymark can understand how and when (and soon why) the waymark was archived or unarchived. bootron
  3. Waymarks over time change and are no longer necessarily the same as they were when initially posted. Take for example WM1, which was a McDonald's restaurant when it was first posted. It's now a Chase Bank. So I archived the waymark. Originally this removed it from the site entirely and it was as if it was deleted. For the users who visited it, the history of what they visited is now gone. Now, with the new update people can still access that old waymark and see what they visited even if it doesn't exist in that form any longer. It's the first step in a push to improve the quality of the data on the site. There ultimately will be some kind of "recommend archival" feature that can help identify waymarks that have changed from their original form so that we can have some better data integrity for the site.
  4. I notice a few of you discussing some new changes that you're seeing on the site. Here are the specific things that were updated last week: Archive/unarchive logs showing the user who took the action now show up on the waymark details page when a waymark is archived or unarchived Archived waymarks can now be viewed by any user if you directly navigate to that waymark's details page (a wm code search works for this too - see WM1 as an example) "Edit Waymark" page now has explanation of the process and a (Requires Review) note on the link in the Waymark Options list for better clarity Bug fix: archive waymark no longer removes the waymark permanently from view (like a delete), it actually archives it (like Geocaching) Bug fix: email is actually sent now when someone comments on a waymark Bug fix: benchmarks link has been removed from waymark details Bug fix: find nearest geocaches link is now updated to point to the current geocaching search results bootron
  5. This is now fixed. Thanks for reporting the issue. bootron
  6. We have been doing some security updates to prevent bad data from negatively affecting the site, but this one unfortunately caused a bug in the feature itself. We'll get this fixed quickly. Sorry about the inconvenience.
  7. We have now removed the home page link altogether from the profile page since it is no longer accessible. If you want to change your bio details you can do so by changing the Profile Details section here. https://www.Wherigo.com/my/details.aspx Make sure you enter your password at the top of the page when you are making the change or else it likely won't take. That's my guess about what was happening to you. bootron
  8. When a user requests that their info be deleted, that includes any photos that they uploaded. It's unfortunate because it can affect the quality of a listing when the photos are deleted, but our legal team has determined that uploaded images are still considered the property of the user who uploaded them.
  9. If you are setting 603,000 waymarks listed on the home page, you are almost certainly viewing our staging website, not the actual production Waymarking website. And sure enough when I look in THAT database, I have found your Evelyn Fern Frazier waymark. Maybe try using the actual production website instead? :)
  10. The waymark you are requesting does not exist in the database, it appears to be deleted entirely. There is no record of anything with "Evelyn Fern Frazier" for any waymark at this time.
  11. This one was just server/database maintenance. The work is now completed and we're back to normal. Thanks for your patience!
  12. On February 17, at approximately 4:00 pm PST, we will conduct maintenance on the Wherigo.com and Waymarking.com websites that will require down time. Convert to your local time here. The expected down time is 1-2 hours. Normal service will resume after the window.

  14. This *should* be fixed now! Report back here if you see otherwise! Thanks, bootron
  15. I have found the problem and fixed it, but will not be able to deploy it until Monday morning. Sorry for the inconvenience. Thanks, bootron
  16. Will be looking into this one today and will report back. Thanks, bootron
  17. The uncategorized waymark issue and also the one Snowdog listed here should both be fixed now. Thanks, bootron
  18. We definitely are looking into these at the moment. For some context, we're doing a pretty major overhaul to the Waymarking email server and also fixing some security issues at the same time. It's kind of a big update that has potential to create a few hiccups along the way. We'll do our best to fix anything that breaks as a result. Thanks for your patience, bootron
  19. Okay, I've made a few changes to allow category members with the CanEditWaymarks permission to view the edit page and members with the CanReview permission to view the gallery page when a waymark in the approval phase. Be sure to check with your group leader if you can't view these things because they might have the permission turned off for your group rank. If you find other places that are broken still, post them here and I'll try to get to them asap. Thanks, bootron
  20. We've been addressing some security issues and apparently were a bit too ambitious with locking some of the permissions down. I'll try to get this fixed by end of day today. Sorry for the inconvenience, bootron
  21. This work is now complete, thanks for your patience!
  22. Hello all, we are planning to do some routine maintenance on the Waymarking and Wherigo sites this coming Thursday at 3-5PM PST. The sites will be completely unavailable at that time, but may not require the entire 2 hour window. Thanks for your patience! bootron
