The full MRE meals cost between 3 and five bucks apiece everywhere I've ever found them, whether online or in army-navy surplus stores. I think I'm going to be sick. I found the expiration date. 2. I usually abort and retry later. Most of the time crowds don't hang around to long in parks. Urban caches are different matter though. They might be a few mintues, maybe a few hours. But urbans around here, so far, can be done at night. Never hold a cat and a Dustbuster at the same time.
  3. Talk about popularity. Just in November, we got excited about cache number 10,000, here we are now at 23325. (BTW, here is the thread about 10,000, http://forums.Groundspeak.com/ubb/Forum2/HTML/001177.html .) Anyone want to guess when we will run out of hexidecimal numbers and the need to drop the C (as in from GCXXXX to GXXXXX)? --- Never hold a cat and a Dustbuster at the same time.
  4. A local discount food chain around here had them 3 for a $1 a while ago. They weren't to bad. But I wouldn't live off them. I got a couple stored in my basement that I put in my pack when I go cacheing. Besides, if I get stuck in woods, I'll have something to eat until help arrives. Never hold a cat and a Dustbuster at the same time.
  5. That is a good idea. Unfortunatly, several registered sites I know of are on private land (And before anyone says anything, I havn't gone to either .gov/com sites, yet), once owned by famous and/or prosperous persons of the Cleveland area. Maybe this will be another off chute someday. Never hold a cat and a Dustbuster at the same time.
  6. Here is the link: http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_details.asp?ID=22457 I don't know if Carly (the brown and green uniform wearing Carly) will count respones here or not. Just click on the link and do it there. See everyone there, and don't forget your ideas! Never hold a cat and a Dustbuster at the same time.
  7. quote: I don't know exactly what an event cache is, but I'll figure it out and post one if a couple people reply that this time is okay. Carly Martin An event cache is like a picnic or get together of cachers, whether to just to get together or as a planning out whats going on in the area. I say we just raid a Denny's or a resturant of some sort where you sit down and can talk. (Fast food resturants, for some strange reason, don't like people hanging around to long after they are done.) Most places want a head count so they know how many to expect. Unfortuntly, my Wife won't be ably to go. That is here late night to work. But I'll be there, where ever it is! Never hold a cat and a Dustbuster at the same time.
  8. I guess I've been lucky. The only virus I've been getting is the Amish Virus. Never hold a cat and a Dustbuster at the same time.

But does anyone know where I can get a bottle of Ol' Janx Spirit? I need to clean my towel off every now and then. Never hold a cat and a Dustbuster at the same time
  11. Took nothing/left nothing. CacheBait is getting thin Never hold a cat and a Dustbuster at the same time.
  12. quote:Originally posted by Ranz: My last trip out there, I not only got a couple of really great caches, I had the opportunity to meet some Omish (spelling?) people. Some quick greetings anyway. Friendly people. Thats the Amish, but close enough. Yeah the older generation is quite friendly, until you get the younger croud. Loud music in a car is bad enough, but put the loud music in a horse drawn buggy late at night..... Oh, and Seeker Bp. Don't worry about us city and suburbanites, when you get the itch to cache, you'll go anywhere to get your fix. (I think its time for me to join the 12-steppers. "Hi. My name is Fred....." ) Never hold a cat and a Dustbuster at the same time.

  14. Took a quick peek at that site. Alot of names that I see here. Looks like fun. Wait a minute, looks like there is one about a quarter mile from my apartment. (Honey, I'm getting that itch. Fire up the GPS. ) Never hold a cat and a Dustbuster at the same time.

  16. Here are a few from the PA line through Cleveland. http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_details.asp?ID=11416 http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_details.asp?ID=13498 http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_details.asp?ID=12220 These are just a few that should be trailer friendly, but punch in 44121 as a zip code and do a cache map for Ohio. Then zoom in until the little cache markers are understandable. BTW, I know the third one I listed is OK to stop at. Its a reststop on I-90.
  17. The way I'm reading it, if there are two caches in a small park or three in a lrge park, I think there would be a grace period for both. Then after one year, its every man (or woman) for themselves. I'll email Carley tonight (she's probably sick of hearing from me ) and point her to this forum.

  19. I just got this from Carley Martin head of Geocaching within Cleveland Metro Parks: "The permits will be free. They will last for one year, then the cache must be moved or another will be allowed. This will not only increase the challenge of the game, but minimize impact off trails. I foresee that all caches in place currently will be permitted for one year (as long as the location is appropriate), but additional caches will be limited to one for each small reservation and two for the larger ones." So if you have one there, you might already heard. If not, I'd wait until they finally get it all together, get the permit, and plant the cache.
  20. My Wife goes with me most of the time. She would reply herself, but she is afraid of the computer. She knows how to get email though.
  21. If I still had the paper, I'd put in here. I was hoping would show up on their website.
  22. I got bored at work this evening. After hearing one of those famous Master Card commercials, I though of one for Geocaching. Garmin eTrex (yellow): $100 Trinkets for the hunt: $20 Small compass: $5 Being first to find a new cache: Priceless Told you I got bored.
  23. Check this cache out. The (Not-So) Famous Cities of the World
