  1. I need some help. Anyone around the Chicago area seen a bag of marbles and/or a lag book for this TB, let me know. camp639 (I think that was the name) told me they found the tag and chain, but no marbles or log. Thanks for any help. Never hold a cat and a Dustbuster at the same time.
  2. George thought he could hide from the bear-beaver. He wrong. We are sure going to miss George. Never hold a cat and a Dustbuster at the same time.
  3. This is in my backyard (just about). The park system wants to do test caches to monitor how fast social trails are formed. If all goes well, they will institue a permit system similar to the one set up in Cleveland MetroParks. GeaugaGarmin (local cacher) works for the park system and will be placing and monitoring the caches. They are planning to start easy and finish with hard caches. (The one pointed in the link at the top is 50 feet off trail, but they are planning a cache at the end that a bit offtrail.) Never hold a cat and a Dustbuster at the same time. I would have arrested him as well. He looks like a criminal from a mile away. I knew I should have shaved (I was on vacation for a couple of days). Yeah they were real nice. Lucky I didn't take the Wife. She would have freaked out. Never hold a cat and a Dustbuster at the same time.
  7. Last Wednesday night when I went to Caching Toddler, Hidden Tupperware on Dec. 11th, I though I was going to be arrested. Thankfully the Cleveland Hts. Police department is very understanding. If you never have been there before, where the cache site is, you can see a bridge and of course they can see you. I'm walking around with a large freezer bag with the travel bug I was going to drop off. I looked up once and see a lady there with her dog on her cell phone. I didn't think about at all and went back to caching and finished my buisness. I get back to my truck and see two police cars parked there and they started to ask me if I was in the woods with a plastic bag. I told them yes and before I can explain, I was handcuffed and in the back of one of the squad cars. By now I telling them about Geocaching, and there was a cache there. They didn't really beleive me. I offered to take them back to site and show them everything. Finally they agreeded. So we walk back and I point with my foot where it is. One of the Officers told me to get it out. I turned around and told him I can't due to the handcuffs. He asked me if I was going to run and I said no. They took off the handcuffs, I dig out the cache, and show them what was inside. After about another five minutes of explaining they let me go. I hold no grudge toward them. They were only doing their job. In fact, I am kinda happy they did that. Who knows, maybe next time they will catch someone doing wrong. Oh well, life goes on. 11. quote:Originally posted by Runaround:2 stories, one one topic, one related. First story There is a cache in the local parks district that has two access points. One is to park your car near the Metropark owned stables and follow the bridle trail to the cache. A one-way hike of about 1.5 miles. The other access point is behind an office building. This hike is about 250'. ..... Which cache was this? Never hold a cat and a Dustbuster at the same time.

  16. I ended up buying ours at a K-Mart that is closing down. My Wife wanted to go bargin hunting and we bought a Sony P-30, 16meg stick and a set of Christmas plates for about $170. Never hold a cat and a Dustbuster at the same time.
  17. Yeah, insomnia does strange things to you. I was doing a Google search on modified trucks the other night and I found this site. twistedmods.com I don't think my little emachine will ever be the same. ----- Never hold a cat and a Dustbuster at the same time.

  19. Yet one more step forward. The permit issue, well, we can get use to that. The Cleveland Metro Parks have permits that you need to fill out and they are free (which is good). BTW, how much are the permit fees from the state? Who knows, maybe the NPS will allow Geocaching by these same guidlines. ---- Never hold a cat and a Dustbuster at the same time.

  24. Several of these benchmarks that I read are encased in a box X number of cm under ground covered by a lid. Just how heavy are the lids anyway? The size I've seen mostly is a nine inch iron cover. (Besides, carrying a crowbar around Cleveland will get you some strang looks.) ---- Never hold a cat and a Dustbuster at the same time.
