  1. I guess i just don’t understand this.

because the point of keeping track of the smilies is to see how many caches and cool places you go.

if you are able to attend (according to what’s wrote above) 3 events and log 2997 times why are the numbers kept track of or even important.

on the first day of caching you could find 10,000-15,000 caches if everyone set the numbers at 999 logs allowed. because that’s only 10 or 15 caches.

Does that defeat the purpose of caching.

i dont see the reason behind logging more than once. if you have already been there then you couldnt have "FOUND' it again.

you would have walked to it knowing where it was.

if the cache is changed in some way then archive it, place a new cache and everyone can log it again.

if i understand right (which they were before i started playing)thats the way locationless caches were and thats why they went away.

and i know some cachers that spent alot of time deleting all of their "extra finds" to make their numbers correct.

yes it took time to find and delete them, and yes they lost alot of numbers, but they said it was worth it.

  2. you can also use www.mygeocaching.com

if you use it when you upload the updates it will give you a list

of caches logged more than 1 time.

i dont log caches or events more than once. i dont see how thats fair but who am i.

when i started using my ipad to log my caches i was logging a lot of caches more than once.

ive just gotten in the habit of checking to see if they are logged twice and deleting if they have.

  3. when i first started cacheing. i went on a hike to a cache.

i found the cache and i found a coin. i had no clue what it was but took it with me anyway.

when i got home and found out how to log it. i saw that it wasnt listed in that cache

but had been missing from another cache in another state for 3 years.

i contacted the owner and actually just mailed it back to them.

  4. i would love to be able to look for this cache.

my guess is with 81 DNF and 0 finds id say the diff is too low.

but i could be wrong. BUT thats alot of DNF's

i dont look at hiding a hard cache as ruining the game i think it helps the game.

i myself love hard caches. ive been to some caches 10-15 times before finding it.

but it will drive ya crazy

and i also see no reason to give hints for FTF

    after the FTF matbe
