  1. Welcome to the world of caching superblackeagle9! "Site under construction" is the same thing I keep getting. What gives?
  2. There are 4 Green Jeeps within 25 miles of the 18833 zip code. One at Ricketts Glen State Park. Two near Mountains Springs Lake. And another in the State Game Lands. Two have been sitting since on or around the 17th. I thought more people would be out after these guys.
  3. The event is up and running. Here is the link. http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_detai...9e-ab1c07db9f29
  4. Here is another one for hydrocache list. Pirates Treasure Island http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_detai...c2-65e75a6511ca
  5. New info! The event is a go! I just have to finish the cache page so it can be published. I am hoping to get this done within the next day or so. I was at the park this week to talk to the manager. He gave his full approval. Denali7, you going to make it. Seems like quite the haul for you!
  6. Maybe the term should be more clearly defined here. For clarification purposes of course. It might come in useful someday. http://geolex.locusprime.net/
  7. I agree with whistler & co. I think I might have even been to the cache with "Poor Pricilla". I have always enjoyed old cemeteries. As long as a cache is in good taste, I think it is fine. I hope cachers keep up the same standards that I have seen in their cemetery caches so others can continue to enjoy them. I think cemetery caches are banned in certain states. Let us hope that does not happen in PA.
  8. Well after much personal debate, I have decided on Worlds End for September 23. I hope that it will be approved with DCNR by the end of the week.
  9. The CITO cache type is not on the notify service page either, at least it is not on mine. http://www.geocaching.com/notify/
  10. Yeah, here is one right in the park. http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_detai...ae-12160351df6f I have been talking to a fellow cacher about doing this and we kicked around the idea about having something at Ricketts Glen State Park instead of at Worlds End. Here is a cache right in Ricketts. http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_detai...79-e6dca6b0dc67 I am thinking of waiting until the leaves change colors, if the caterpillars left anything. I would also like input from fellow cachers
  11. Here is one at Ricketts Glen State Park that seems popular with most cachers. Plus there are many other caches in the park. When I went to it, the cache was filled with garbage and sitting out in the open. I did enjoy the kayak ride out. This cache also seems to be muggled quite often with many TBs missing from the island. http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_detai...dc-3017fc158e46 Here is one on State Game Lands 237 on the Susquehanna River near Wysox. I have never done this one, but I would like to someday. However, it might be gone due to recent flooding. http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_detai...11-42adb46a20c1 Good Luck
  12. I am thinking about hosting an event at Worlds End State Park in late August or September and was just wondering how much interest there would be. I also might need some help depending upon how many people plan on showing up. I would also like to know what cachers might like to do for the day. Poker Run, Scavenger Hunt, Picnic, TB swap, three-legged race, TB throwing contest; that might be fun. Well, if anyone wants to let me know, please do. Thanks
  13. Here is a pic of Gary with some old pins I found in my basement. This is my first pic post, so if this doesn't work, you will just have to go to Gary's page.
  14. Here is the biggest/heaviest one the I have found. I hope to move him today. If only we could find some bigger ammo cans. http://www.geocaching.com/track/details.as...77-3bb7fa47c4d7
  15. Maybe I should have been clearer. I am not asking for myself. I am all for the honor system and giving others a chance to get caches out. I am just wondering how DCNR will react when cachers do not live up to their end of the bargain. I am wondering if it will upset DCNR and the whole permit process in general.
  16. I was just wondering if anyone knows if DCNR would really go after someone that did not remove his or her cache once the cache permit expired. I was looking at a cache the other day that was placed with DCNR permission but has been in the wild over three years. The DCNR page reads as follows: "A cache may remain at the approved site for no more than three years at which time it must be removed, the site restored to its original condition, and the Park Manager / District Forester informed in writing of the removal. This will control cache abandonment and assist in preventing renegade trail development to the site." I just want to know if DCNR really checks into this kind of thing or not. Does anyone know?
  17. I was out last evening with a fellow cacher, scouting out some locations for a new mulit when we heard it. That unmistakable rattle. We were walking along the Loyalsock Trail, my feet dragging as always, when I stubbed my boot on a hollow log lying across the trail and it answered back. Rattle, Rattle, Rattle. I looked in the log from several feet away, but I could not see the snake in there. After tapping on the log and making the snake rattle several more times we continued down the trail. On our way out, about an hour later, the snake was still hiding away in the log. So be careful out there! I was just wondering if anyone else has run into any Rattlers yet this year.
  18. I also have a poo cache story.... here is my log from last year for GCPB2F. "What to say about my time here? Had a nice walk in with THE RETRIEVERS. Saw a few deer in the field. Found the cache without too much trouble. TNLNSL. We walked out by the creek. Then the... hit the fan, or I guess me. Decided to climb down in one of the cool round holes along the creek. The one with a hole going out toward the creek, so you could climb all the way though it. On my way out of the hole, I discovered that someone had decided to use it as their own personal bathroom. So basically I end up with #2 on me. Had to go shirtless for the next hour. Not a good way to end my day. So if you go here don't go climbing in any holes along the creek. But on the bright side, I have a very interesting and smelly story to tell. But all in all, this was a very nice spot. Thanks for a true caching experience. - Avalance - " That is all I have to say about that!
  19. I think Ebay might be the way to go. I just got a Zire 21 for $9 plus $4 for shipping. After a day or two of playing around with Cachemate (for $8) and GSAK, I am up and running. And a few hours of tech support from fellow cacher GR8danz. (Thanks). I couldn't believe no one else bid on it. I haven't had time to field test anything yet, but it all looks good. Good Luck
  20. Northeast PA. Sullivan County. Some must hit spots up this way are World's End and Ricketts Glen State Parks. - Avalance -
  21. I am heading to a concert at Penn's Landing on Memorial Day weekend and was wondering if anyone could suggest a few quick caches nearby. The concert is Jam on the River. I think it is at the Great Plaza off of Market St. Thanks
