Alright well i think i would rather deal with lag than something with less features and customizability(is that even a word?). Also it took me a while to accumulate the money even if it's only 230$ on amazon so i took the oppertunity. Im also only fourteen so it's not like i need the street level maps yet but im sure i'll end up getting them just because i thinks its all so fascinating. so im still going to get the sportrak color thanks for everyones help.

Ok so the meridian color is better than sportrack color but does the meridian have the same "lag" or "slingshot" effect when trying to find a cache? -GBB7108

Im going to buy a magellan sportrack color. This will be my first gps unit i have ever purchased. I just recently heard about geocaching a week ago and was instantly fascinated. Started out leaning towards a garmin etrex legend or vista but then heard they have trouble holding satellites. In addition i also noticed that the Magellan Sportrack units have a much better antenna(quad-helix) compared to the Garmin Etrex units. Also many people have said they returned their garmin etrex untis for a magellan sportrack unit. Am I making the right choice? Just trying to get as much info as possible before i buy it off amazon at the end of the month. -Any information would be EXTREMELY helpful -GBB7108
