  1. This Error 500 has started affecting geocaching.com users on a wider level. There's a separate thread just started awhile ago. We cannot access our user "dashboard" whatsoever. Please fix this! It's definitely an ACCOUNT issue, as it's happening across the board on every device I have. iOS 17.3.1 iPadOS 17.3.1 Mac OS 10.13.6 Browsers: Safari, Chrome, and Firefox
  2. We are having this trouble with the user DASHBOARD as well - getting the same error described herein. All other things seem to work, but at any point, attempting to go to the dashboard by clicking/tapping the username/icon (top right of the page), or trying to open the link on a given page that reads "dashboard" will render the "Error 500".
  3. Incidentally, I had no intention whatsoever of sparking a controversy or sniping at anyone's tech work. I did, however, feel compelled to share my own experience with the "widget" in order to warn other unsuspecting users of the potential (and to me, real) issues. To do less would be a disservice to fellow geocachers. Thanks.
  4. Nope. If that's an expected behavior, then it isn't for me. Lesson learned. No pox on the developers. Sorry if it seemed that way. Thanks.
  5. THINK TWICE before adding this "widget". I made the mistake of following the instructions without knowing the effect it would have on my iPhone's screen setup: (1) It deleted the geocaching app from my phone's dock at the base of the screen. I couldn't find it anywhere; (2) It "exploded" my phone's desktop, scattering apps everywhere, and taking them out of the way I wanted them arranged; (3) The "widget" dominates the screen, and it seems that one cannot get it to minimize. I am vision impaired and need all the space I can get on the screen without clutter. Needless to say, I've removed the widget and am now going through the labor of reorganizing all of the scattered apps and trying to rearrange them according to what I had before. BEWARE. This is not what I'd call an improvement. Thanks.
  6. I am very disappointed with the change. Please go back to the original display (Yes, I know there’s a link, but there’s more to it than that). (1) Visually impaired users such as myself have a much more difficult time sifting and getting meaningful use of the info. (2) When I click on “All Geocache Finds” from my stats page (or someone else’s), it takes me to what looks like a completed “Search” page. One key missing element, in my estimation, is the loss of ability to see when the cache was last found. It only shows when I last found it. I want to see when anyone last found it! I cannot do this any longer by simply displaying the list of caches from the stats page. Before, it showed my find date in green text, and the “last found” date just above that, in the same table cell. That is now GONE with the new “feature”. ** If there is another way to see “last found” along with the date that I found it, please elaborate. The only way I can see to do that is by putting all of my finds on a watchlist. And I’m not even sure that would work in the same manner. In conclusion, (1) above is the more important consideration of the two. The grey background and compact format was FAR better than a common search page. thanks.
  7. My bad. The code I found, while valid, is not/not actually sent from Mars. It was posted ahead of the landing. I did not realize this until now. Please pardon me for writing in haste.
  8. Greetings. No, I am sorry. I mistakenly found an image that was posted in December 2020 and which clearly shows the trackable code. I believed it to be a new image, as I was using my phone to search at the time and in my excitement hastily made the original post. I apologize for that. Indeed, they are doing their job. Thank you.
  9. // This post was written erroneously. I am deleting the text. I apologize for the wrong assumptions herein. //
  10. Thank you for your thoughtful and helpful response,
  11. I haven’t logged any caches since 22 December, but when trying to log today’s finds, I am unable to get past the “Drafts” listing, and in some cases have not been able to get the pulldown menu under “Play” to open on the site home page. It just loops back to the homepage with no action and no explanation. I have tried this on both laptop and iPad, using Google Chrome. Same result on both devices. Is the website having trouble today? Thanks.
