Did it have any bells in it? Nah, just something that appeared small and rectangular.... sort of like a..... WAIT! NOOOO!!! not the GPSr! Oh well, I guess that'd be one reason to finally upgrade.... "but honest dear, the bear ATE my Vista"
  4. Scott, got my coins today and I have to say they are awesome! Great representation of a sig item.... thanks for a unique coin!

Are you sure that wasn't the really hard cache in disguise that you DNFed this last week? My husband already thinks I'm rabid about caching.... just about any free time we have I want to cache. I can just see the look on his face if I start poking around in bear poop I'm sure I'd be looking for a new cache partner! Besides, the cache that really has me vexed is in the middle of downtown Placerville - no bears there!
  6. Not too often that we take something from a cache, but we generally carry a supply of the following items to leave. individually wrapped bug repellant wipes (we live and cache in the country) waterproof match holders (often used as micro caches) less than a buck at WallyWorld small carabiner keychains - usually from home improvement stores small toy cars - new only! small bouncy superballs We mostly try to leave what we'd like to find.

We live in the foothills and do quite a bit of caching in remote (hunting) areas. In addition to a bright orange cap and/or vest I have a bear bell on my backpack. This time of the year bears are on the move in our area. We've seen big cat prints, bear poop, and recent deer kills while out caching. Don't forget to think about your dogs if you have cache hounds....
  8. I certainly do apologize. In the forms that were set up you were down for a set of 3. I originally had you down for the 2 as well. I will refund the money if you wish. ( not lookin good for the coin newbie ) No need to apologize! I went ahead and paid the invoice for the 3 coins as I figured I'd be sorry later if I only purchased the two. I admire the way you've jumped in and accomplished so much. I'm still stuck at the design phase!
  9. Just curious if there's an update on shipping. Can't wait to see these coins live and in person. Thanks~
  10. I knew it... I just knew it. I knew if I sat in that pumpkin patch long enough my GeoPumpkins would show up! Great looking little pumpkins! Happy Halloween and Thanks~
  11. Ain't that the truth! Since I'm new to coin collecting I've resorted to - GASP - purchasing a few from that ePlace. There's just gotta be a better way. Especially since I want some keepers as well as coins to set loose. Thanks again everyone for the recommendations!
  12. Wow, thanks for the quick responses. Just what I need, eh, to spend even MORE $$$ on coins! Thx again
  13. I'm curious if there are any coin of the month clubs? I'm looking for a way to more or less systematically purchase coins to be released in caches? Thanks!
  14. Woohoo! Received and paid my invoice today. Had previously "reserved" 1 gold and 1 bronze and 2 pins, but was invoiced for a full set plus 2 pins. Went ahead and paid for a full set since these coins are so sweet. Thanks!
  15. I'm coming from the other end of this coin discussion in that I'm relatively new to geocoins and don't yet have my own coins to release. However, I love finding coins in caches and try to have them moved within a week. I take it personally if I've moved a coin along, only to find out it went missing after I moved it! I have a couple of ideas for my own coins (no artistic talent here though!) and can't wait until I have some to release. Many thanks to those of you who do release coins - I enjoy seeing them and holding them - for a few days - in my hot little hands! ~Chance
  16. I received a PayPal invoice, but would like to include insurance on shipping. Will you send a new invoice for the coin plus shipping? I didn't see an option for adding insurance, but did see your statement to let you know if we'd like insurance. Thanks!
  17. X MarksTheSpot, what a great story! To me, that's what TGF is all about... I love the mystery and excitement that TGF has created; this is one of my favorite threads to read. While I'd love to find a coin myself it's the stories like yours that are the REAL treasure. Thanks for sharing! PS. The CA gold country is an awful special place to visit TGF, if you ever get a chance! (Still hoping).
  18. I had also "reserved" on the previous thrread, as well as sent an email with PayPay info. Hope I didn't confuse things too much, but based on what was requested in this thread I went ahead and filled out the order form. HOWEVER, I ordered a full set plus 2 pins. (Previously had ordered 1 bronze, 1 gold and 2 pins). Bet you'll be glad when this is all said and done! Thanks Nutlady... great coins!
  19. Email sent with PayPay information for the 2 coins and 2 pins that I'd "reserved". Great looking coins, can't wait to see them! Congrats on your coin!
  20. Hmmm, SouthBayDay started this thread about TGF, and was in Italy at the same cache as TGF? How "lucky" can one person be?
  21. That's what I thought also.... I just use the look-up on the geocaching.com seek a cache page.
  22. Are you just looking to have a link within geocaching.com that you can input a city name to retrieve the ZIP codes? If so, then from the main page, select Hide and Seek a Cache from the column on the left. When the page opens, the top selection is for locating caches by ZIP code. Within that box is the Search for ZIP Code link. If I misunderstood your question just ignore me.... you won't be the first!
  23. Wow, really nice! Glad I got my order in! Thanks for posting the pics.
  24. Try this site... I think that's where I got my activation codes... geocoinclub.com.
