  1. That is an eye-catching button! That is something for which I would definitely trade!
  2. I think the person that wrote "pizza, cookies, and cheese whiz" also said that this was what they wanted to find in their backpack not a cache And I definitely know not to leave food in caches. We found a cache last week into which someone had left a roll of Hall's cough drops and the whole cache was full of ants! Yikes!
  3. I think I've seen those fanny packs you're talking about. The dollar store sells them. Great suggestion, thanks
  4. MMMMMmmmm, cheese whiz. Watch out for bears following you
  5. Thanks for all of the ideas. Perhaps this is what our first cache will look like: -Hamsters -Hand-made items -Outdoor supplies -CITO canisters -Unusual Gadgets and Gimmicks -New toys (no McD's) -New, not burned, CDs -Cash -Unscathed keychains -Unscathed pin badges -Just the log book -Extra log books? -Bungee cords -Foreign currency -Camping items -Hiking items -Mini fans -Italian Charms -Sunscreen -Bug Repellent -Working pen -Silly keychains -Funny trinkets -Hobby items (golf?) I guess we'll have to use a Rubbermaid garbage can to hold it all!
  6. I agree about not choosing the scratched up stuff. We've been putting things in teeny ziplocs to avoid this.
  7. Yes, of course you can borrow this idea, I am flattered, thank you
  8. what's wrong with gold bullion? Or stocks and bonds for that matter?!
  9. Hey, that is a very cool juggling ball! I was hoping people would say handmade items. We have been leaving these as exchanges:
  10. That's great! And thank you for your list I know what CITO is since we practice it, but what are CITO canisters?
  11. Thank you They are fun to make and not too terribly expensive and even my husband wears one ... one like the bracelet with the brown beads.
  12. We have found 21 caches so far and it is probably time for us to make our first cache. What in your opinion are your favourite things to find in a cache? If you would rather point me to a recent post of favourite cache items instead of putting your favourites down here please feel free to do so instead (or as well). Also I have perused the forums and understand the term "gumf". Thank you for your time.
  13. We are new to geocaching and the things we put into the caches we visit are usually my kids old toys they are finished playing with, coins from other countries, dollar store hardware items, and stuff we make ourselves like this:
  14. The story about the bear can be found here. It was in our town. Poor thing was so scrawny looking .
