  1. It's my first time and I'm really not sure if it's best to regroup or not. I know that some of the coins I posted on my list are not really high on everyone's want lists, but it's not clear to me that grouping those coins together would make them a better deal, either. I contemplated grouping a coin set that I have, but that would mean someone else would have to group their coin set too. I guess that ideally I'd want to see how other people are grouping to determine my own grouping, and since I can't do that I'm just going with what I've got and seeing what happens! I can see grouping non-trackables or micros together, though, as those typically don't trade one-for-one with unactivated trackable coins.
  2. I'm not regrouping either. I'm not really clear on strategy here, so I'm not bothering and will see what happens.
  3. I am seriously excited about this cointest. I love history AND I love geocoin research! In the course of my procrastination ...uh, participation... I am likely to do a few of these timelines. While I only expect to be entered into the cointest once, can I post the rest or should I only post one?
  4. Wow, great coin! I love the orange one especially. I've been on the forums ever since Anne (anneandeli) told me about cointests and missions months ago. So I entered, and entered, and... not a thing. But it was still fun all the same! And, of course, the missions have been fantastic. I, too, am reminded of my childhood when I see these. I had a toy chest at the bottom of my bed (carefully guarded by my stuffed tiger with a funny haircut -- who knew tiger fur wouldn't grow back?) But every night if I had trouble sleeping, my imagination would take over and I'd envision all these critters from the toy chest crawling around on my floor and walls and ceiling! Scary at the time, but looking back on it, this coin just makes me laugh because of it. Thanks for the cointest, and good luck everyone!
  5. Psst. Scroll to the right. And I agree. These coins look amazing!
  6. I am so sorry for your loss. I, too, have lost a close friend to cancer. He was only 49. Raising money for the American Cancer Society is a wonderful cause, of course, but I am also excited about buying some and releasing them to travel and spread awareness.
  7. Thank you for putting me on the list, and CONGRATULATIONS on the birth of your daughter!!
  8. They do? If so, it is location dependent. (The one buy me does not.) I haven't seen them at the one closest to us, either. But they do have some online, which I never knew before! http://www.rei.com/category/40005558 I know the cachekinz can be bought elsewhere and for less money too, I think... anyone know about the geocoins? They seem a bit pricey at REI...
  9. Sign me up!! Anne.and.Eli (well the Anne part) and I actually got to go to a conference on a Disney cruise last Spring. Unfortunately we didn't discovery geocaching until later -- turns out there's a cache on Castaway Cay! So I'm ready to go back.
  10. I'm in too! This all sounds very confusing, but I have faith in the mystical computer. Thanks for organizing this!
  11. Phew! I've had a long evening baking brownies and cookies and wrapping gifts for a Christmas party tomorrow. So while I did that, I tackled wrapping and packing my mission too! It will be out in tomorrow's mail. And to reward myself, I opened my Secret Santa package! Oh my goodness, ELTADA, you are so awesome!! I can't believe you were worried I'd think that you didn't send enough stuff. The snowflakes really made me smile. I've only been living in California for a little over three years now, and I moved from the east coast where we get just a bit more snow than this. I miss it! I love all these coins, of course, and especially the Mario one. I think it's been on my wishlist the longest of any. Thank you SO much! 1. Participating: 10/20/09 2. Received Name: 11/1/09 3. Mission Complete: 12/10/09, going in the mail today, should arrive with time to spare 4. Package Received!: 11/28/09, all the way from Canada!
  12. I have no willpower whatsoever when it comes to christmas I put our Christmas Trees up today Wow, those are great Christmas trees. Confession: I have had a small black christmas tree, with pink LED lights and brightly colored baubles, on my desk for almost a month.
  13. 1. Participating: 10/20/09 2. Received Name: 11/1/09 3. Mission Complete: working on it... 4. Package Received!: 11/28/09, all the way from Canada! Wow, it got here a month before Christmas! Are people really all waiting to open them? This is going to be hard... but I'll at least give it a couple weeks. It's not even December yet!
  14. I'm interested in working towards completing my obsession with National Parks coins. Looking for Hawaii Volcanoes, Joshua Tree, Crater Lake, Everglades, and/or Sequoia. Non-activated only please. My trading list is here... I've also got mystery heart coins (all colors) and an extra YemonYime "savor the citrus" coin. I may be willing to trade from my "keeping" list too, so feel free to ask! Email me through my profile. ETA: anneandeli informs me that I have a different version of the YemonYime coin than I originally claimed. Edited to correct. Thanks!
  15. 1. Participating: 10/20/09 2. Received Name: 11/1/09 -- I'm ready to shop! 3. Mission Complete: 4. Package Received!: I suppose I should go update my seeking list now.
  16. I still LOVE this coin. You know I want one in every metal you get. I really love the all-metal ones where just the pony/unicorn is colored in.
  17. My birthday mission arrived today! Unfortunately there was no name attached, so I'm not sure who to thank. But whoever you are, thank you!! Wrapped goodies, lit by the glow of an LCD monitor: Candy and coins and a movie! I haven't watched The Astronaut Farmer before -- we watch movies with dinner every night, so this has been added to our queue and I'm looking forward to watching it in the next couple days. And the coins are awesome. I'm going to release the Generic Geocoin, but the halloween compass rose is too cute to let go. Thank you again!
  18. I'm in too! 1. Participating: 10/20/09 2. Received Name: 3. Mission Complete: 4. Package Received!:
  19. Oh good, I'm glad it arrived safely! Hope that Laura is feeling better soon.
  20. Oh look at all those coins! I am in awe. Amazing. AND. Look at the top right corner of the pic! Those are the samples for her new coin!
  21. Tell me about it. She got me all these cool coins and keeps saying I'll just have to wait until she gets home for me to see them! I demand instant gratification! Glad it sounds like the event was such a success!
  22. Got my mission into the mail this morning. Can't believe it's 10 days to ship international! Should still arrive in plenty of time, though.
