Thanks for the response! Are your able to update the maps on the GPS? I was told that you can not or does that depend on the model? (see quote above).
I don't know about the Garmins but as for the Magellans the eXplorist 310 and higher model numbers you are able to upload custom maps in to it. You can't upload custom maps to the eXplorist GC and eXplorist 110 but the maps are updateable via future firmware update.
Thanks for letting me know that i might choose to go to Magellan. Because of the touch screen.
eXplorist GC is what I use. I originally had a geomate jr. just because of the cost, but I don't recommend it at all. The eXplorist is a great value for the price.
