  1. The procedure of the Texas reviewer (I assume this is in Texas) is as follows - All "Needs Archive" logs are routed to me. I read them the same day they are generated. If the reason for the request involves a legal or guideline issue (cache in a posted area, for example), the cache will be dealt with immediately. Otherwise, the logs are routed to another queue, and the cache owner is given a minimum of 10 days to deal with the situation. A few times a month, all requests sitting on the queue for more than 10 days are processed. Any caches that seem to have an issue will be disabled, a note will be posted to the owner, and the cache will be placed on a 30 day wait list. After 30 days, if there's no response from the owner, it will be archived. Other reviewers may have their own routine. Thanks for the info! I appreciate it! I just didn't really know the whole process! Thanks again!
  2. is there a set time limit on this or just whatever the review feels is appropriate?
  3. ive sent you a message!! i love your item!!!!!!!!!!!
  4. There is a cache that hasn't been found since Feb 2006 near a place Id really like to place one... Im still new to hiding so Im not sure how a cache gets archived... There have been about 8 DNF since 2006 and someone marked it "Needs to be Archived" on August 6th... What happens next? Is there a timeline before a moderator takes it off? It is in a park that I really want to place a cache... Just curious on the process of this...
  5. I wanted to put a map on my profile on the site for all the counties that I have found caches in for Texas. I saw a program people use called GSAK but it seems really complicated.... or either I must not understand it. I even read directions for once!! Any other free programs out there to do this? Would LOVE it if someone could point me in the right direction!!
  6. Gosh.... I thought this was a forum for us to just talk... I didn't mean to offend or make anyone think I am uptight... bittsen - i did not take it personal in any way! i am sure this happens ALL OVER and not just to me... haha... that would be silly. I was simply making a statement.
  7. oh no it won't sour me! i love hiding them! i think i honestly like it better than finding them!! well maybe not... but i like it! haha... not dwelling on it... its obviously just a pet peeve and something i will get over... just had to gripe on here and see if others agree with me!
  8. exactly!!!! its not like i expect a paragraph but at least just something regarding the find other than "TFTC FTF - found with so and so and so and so...." i understand it might take a bit longer if you have found alot but its all part of the experience - at least i think so!
  9. Well my dad and I (and sometimes my mom) have started caching and enjoyed it!! We have alot of fun... So we decided to start placing some caches... we spent alot of time this weekend finding good spots, getting some containers ready, logging them, etc.... Anyways... i guess when the people that get notified of new caches and go find them all very quickly (which is GREAT!!) they go find alot in one day and don't feel like logging them... When 1 of the group of people that found some caches we placed, it was the same generic log (copy and paste) of the FTF... even the same log on my dad's hides... The other person actually wrote a different sentence on each cache which i enjoyed! I guess it just kinda irritated me about the other person because when I log my finds, I actually give details about the find (no spoilers of course) because if someone is taking the time to hide the cache and do the work for me to have a good time, i actually put some effort into it... So when I got the same response on all my caches it kind of bugged me... I would love some sort of feedback so I know if I'm actually doing a decent job... Id like to know was it a quick find, was it a challenge, good camo job, lots of muggles or SOMETHING!! Anything really! Does this bug anyone else or am i the only one?
  10. ohhhh scratch offs are a good idea.... i haven't thought about that! what dollar amount do you buy and leave in there? $1? $2? $5 or more?
  11. I was just curious to hear other peoples thoughts and/or ideas on FTF prizes... Do you leave one? If so, is only for larger caches or do you also find something that will work for a micro? What kind of things do you leave? Just want to hear some peoples ideas on this.... Thanks!
  12. i just want to be clear that i was not being impatient... i was letting the original poster know that it sometimes takes a while............ i can only imagine how long it would take to review hundreds of peoples caches that they place........ so i just wanted to make that clear because it was obviously taken wrong..............
  13. i posted some over the weekend on saturday early afternoon and they are still not reviewed and published and today is Tuesday...
  14. AHHHH!! I got ya! Yes there is a plaque.... Man I am going to have to sit and work on this one thanks for the advice!
  15. Well I had posted a topic a while back to do a virtual but those have been discontinued so I was wondering if this would work for a mutli-cache.... If I set a cache up for stage 1 that had the coordinates for the second stage.... The second stage would be kind of like the virtual part of it (if you could call it that) and have people go to the coordinates listed where they would find an object and then to confirm their find they need to email some information from the object.... would that work for a multi since i wouldn't actually have a "cache" to find at the 2nd stage - it would be an object that they would confirm by emailing me... is that acceptable?
  16. When I go to the form to create a new cache - it does not give me the option to select a virtual cache in the "Cache Type" drop down box.... How do you create one? I have an idea for one and was checking out the form to maybe create one in the next few weeks... Can anyone help me out on this? Thanks!
  17. thats the problem... when i go to my manage preferences to change to allow friends it will not let me... it gives me an error when i save and gives me a place to tell what i am doing... i have reported several times and the error still has not been fixed....
