  3. I guess this question has risen its head more times on this forum than most things. As I am very new to this sport I wouldn't have seen the forum questions before. I have bought an EtrexH Hand held GPS I dont have the connecting cable from my PC (USB) port to my hand hand devise. Can anyone tell me please (1) the make of the cable (2) The internet site where I can buy one (3) The price for the cable (Apprx) (4) Are they worth buying Thanks for any replies and I am really enjoying the sport The other thing are there any events in the SE of the UK where other Geocatchers meet up exchange ideas encourage new members swap or sell Geo items and just have a great family day with like minded people.
  4. I am very new to this sport so I am sorry if I am teaching people to suck eggs. I just thought everyone should be aware that there are a large amount of Adders on the hills this Summer especially with the recent heat wave we are experiencing. I felt it was important those that enjoy this sport as a family outing and those that take their dogs with them should take extra care. I found 3 Adders soaking up the sun on the footpath today on the South Downs. Be careful when searching for caches in trees and grassy areas. Lots of water Sun cream and hats etrexmel

Kind regards Mel
  6. Hi I live in the UK and do a lot of Countryside walks on footpaths using maps. I bought a Garmin eTrex H to help me with but it has been locked in my cupboard 2 days after purchase because I found it hard to use. I have just been shown the Geocaching website which sound fantastic and which I could incorperate into my walks. I would like to buy a reasonable priced Garmin which allows me to download maps of foorpaths onto my hand held GPS What do you recommend or can I find a way to get to grips with this eTrex H I already have. Very grateful for any advice or help Mel
