  1. matejcik "... when you can get a player for your cellphone?" Been reading the forms here and though I see hints that this exists, where and how to install is still a mystery. I have a "samsung eternity" (it's java based) where do I get info on the app that works with it?
  2. Yes, I have had this problem. FF 3.5 does not work with G.M. Reinstall your old version until this is fixed.
  3. How does one either correct the wrong co ordinates of a cache or report this to have it corrected? The published co-ords takes you to one of the filthiest spots you could find. When I got home I saw that the owner put the correct co ords in the description, but that didn't help me using the ones that I got from my query. I wrote it up and the guy just puts a repaired note there saying there's nothing he can do. Either he don't know how to do this or don't care. I don't know how to do this and would like to know so I can show him the way. Need help.
  4. The "geocaching.com to GSAK" sounds like you lost an associations. Try this, In GSAK top menus - GPX File Association... Think in the requester, click the box to force each time gsak starts and the the left big button "Associate". See if that does it.
  5. Yah, I got the same thing so came here to verify. The main two people or on holiday so that might have something to do with it.
  6. I do have cookies enabled! I enter site from GC.com. But I always have to log in. Why?
  7. Text size is controled in SA. in the draw tab. Click the green pin - known as "waypoint: lets you add waypoints to the map" The font control will pop up.
  8. You don't want a LOC file you want to use Pocket Queries. On your main page for gc.com on the right side of the page is a box, scan down and find "Premium Features", under that is the link entitled "Build Pocket Queries". Click this. On that page are links to understanding and generateing GPX file - (The ones you want) and the software you need to display and use them. Spend some time on the pocket query information and see if you understand this, then if you still have questions - come back and ask.
  9. Go to the GSAK support pages: http://gsak.net/board/index.php? and ask there
  10. wingryder, The name of the caches are in the PQs. You dont have to do anything but look at them. You need something to show you the names: Use the menu on the left side of the GC.com page and click "resources" - On the page is a link to software. Here find a number of programs (two are FREE), ClayJar Watcher and EasyGPS. Both, like GSAK, will display your PQs with the GC number AND the cache NAME! Have fun.
  11. I live in an area without cellular coverage. And No DSL or cable. We use rabbit ears, rj11 phone hook ups and travel into town once a week to see the traffic lights change. This is no joke. It my so called life.
  12. GC.com does not give out "every piece of info", but they give out last 5 logs. You need GSAK and a laptop, or GSAK - cachemate (or equivalent) and a PDA. To carry EVERY piec of information.
  13. "Secondly, as I have said, in the last year of review I saw maybe one or two that were interesting. The desire for a tick on the find count had people submitting every brass plaque as a virtual. That and dead animals, tennis balls, manhole covers and even wadded up grass. I've been to a virtual that was listed that was a manhole cover. Historic? Educational? Interesting? A manhole cover at the end of a street is none of that." I think this is the fault of the reviewer! Now, I don't know what there rules are for allowing a cache, and maybe deaming it a good or bad cache is not one of the rules they have to follow, but it should be. Enough said here. "I guess the problem for me with that statement is that you would not go to these locations unless you could get a find." Its not "would not go to these locations" its DONT KNOW of these locations. I spent two years in Biloxi, Miss. in the Air Force. Last year me and the wife visited the place. Through virtuals I learned about Biloxi. I will add that the visitors center had a lot of info, but the virtuals had a lot more.
  14. Swizzle, I'm with you. www.Waymarking.com STINKS!!!! Of course it can only get better. Anything would be an improvement. You can only look by zip code Ya that narrows things down, dont it? And are they interesting places that a tourist would like to see. Ha ha ha. And do they give you things in the city, place, area your at. No, they give you the entire class of items, and maybe one of them is where your at and maybe not. Tried it on two occations. Wont be back!!!!!!!!!! Virtuals took me to places were I learned about the place I was visiting. They were what sold me on geocaching. Sad to see em go and die like that.
  15. Short answer - No. Your TBs are inventoryed in the GC.com forms on your personal page. You should have that many TBs at one time as to need a database to manage them. You can use USER NOTES or USER DATA 1 and 2 to make a note to yourself that you have the TB. To see how to do this open manual (F1) goto tab (Index) type note click on user notes and then display. For user data see columns same index. So that you can see what TBs you have on the main screen - use USER DATA and make sure that column is showing on the GUI.
  16. I dont find the program difficult to use either. NOW! You do have to ask a couple of questions though. I was glad I found the forms for the program. The people there set me striaght and its been smooth sailing since. It is slow to load up, but how many times a day are you going to load it???
  17. "Ok.. we've found the issue and a fix will be released early next week." Dont think it has been fixed.
  18. why dont we do this AFTER the travel bug problem, hay?
  19. Hi Overland1, I am using a Dell Inspiron 1150 and HATE the mouse pad also. Bought a usb enabled Logitech optical mouse and love it. When SA 06 came out - it had key board short cuts that did eveything. And you could add what you wanted. So the mouse doesn't come out any more. Of Course the talk to it feature also eliminated the mouse, but my wife needs something to do while we travel or she'll sleep. This is from Dan Lawyer on http://forum.delorme.com/ on new features: Draw Tab/File../More Button On the Draw tab, we can now select a draw layer, and see all the objects in it, in a list window below the files. I don't know how many times I've wanted to know what was in a draw file. If you double clicked on a draw file, it would zoom and position the map within the screen, but you didn't have a clue where they were. You could drag a box around them, but that only works when zoomed in pretty close, so if you had some in California and Maine, you were out of luck. We can select an object, goto it, and perform maintenance features right there, including editing the name, deleting the object, moving and/or copying the object to another draw file. Another thing they added is that if you hold your cursor over any draw object that is displayed, it tells you what draw file that object is in. I've been pushing for this feature for years and we finally got it, even better than I had hoped for. Arrow Right Mouse Click on a Route We can now create a GPS log out of a route, without even using the GPS. This means we can create a route, turn it into a GPS track and play it back in a preview. This doesn't sound like much, but if you've ever played back a GPS log, you've probably noticed that the program goes into full GPS tracking mode. The voice navigation works, then Zoom to Turn feature works, and the Auto Back on Track feature works. Because of this, you can not only preview a route, you can see how your settings for the different options will react prior to going on the route, and having to deal with it in real time. It's much easier to know how the feature works prior to actually having to use it. Arrow Toolbar Toggle Imagery Tool The Show Roads feature, which displays the roads on top of the aerial or satellite ADP data you can buy, is very much like the Google Maps Hybrid feature. DeLorme has had this data for years, but it was only available in Topo USA and their professional programs. They have lowered the price for the data, and they are getting more high res data. Yes, this data is available from websites like Google, and it's free, but you can't take the data with you and track with your GPS using it on a laptop going down the road following a route. It's years down the road, but when the whole US, or at least major cities are high res, I really feel that this will be the future on mapping software. DeLorme gives us a peak at it now, and its the first mapping software company to offer it. Use your free sample along a route you know, to get a feel for it. Hope this helps.
  20. I can not find where GC.com said PQs would be in any order, much less distance from a point. I also looked at PQs I have and the old ones are in distance, the new ones are by GC#. Maybe the nexts ones will be alphabetical by cache name. What difference does it make? Your display software should reorder it for you. If it doesn't, I would think you'd get a different program or ask the author to fix the problem. When I upload to my etrak they are arranged by GC# and I can't change that, but I can in my display software.(That means - on my computer or PDA or printed sheets of paper) Yes, I have a problem with GC.com - The travel bug TB# that they have been sending us in PQs for the past two months are wrong. It has taken an extra long time to get it fixed. Don't know if it is. Hard to get info from them.
  21. I see recently maintained logs in my PQs all the time.
