  1. Here's waht I've discovered so far: If you download a cache with pictures that are immebed in the description, the picutres seem to get transfered to the GC (along with the helpful emoticons ). Then, when you view the cache record on the GC and scroll down a bit, you will see a "Pictures" button that should have a count >0. If you push that button, you will see one of the pictures. If you push the joy stick left and right, you will go through the list of pictures. If you are routing to a geocache, this can also be access when in Map mode if you hit the menu key. This doesn't seem to work with picutres that in the cache record's "gallery" on geocaching.com. I'm still asking Magellan about that. Kim
  2. How do you access the Magellan eXplorist GC picture viewer? How can you load pictures onto the Magellan eXplorist GC (to carry a satellite image, for example)? Magellan’s web site for the eXplorist GC feature list says: “Picture Viewer - Whether the log has a pic of the last person to find or the hider attached a spoiler image to help locate a well hidden cache, a picture is worth a thousand words” www.REI.com sales site says “Picture viewer lets you view downloaded photos such as the last person to find a cache or a spoiler image to help locate a well-hidden cache” I can find this mentioned anywhere in the manual.
  3. This works on Ver 1.4 firmware. Check the screen on boot-up to see what version you have: Choose main menu "Tools" Choose "Stats" Hit the Menu key Choose "Reset Geocache History" on this options list. Confirm "Yes" That will set everything back to zero. The you can go back through your geocach list and hit the "Found" button to build your coutn back up accurately. If you hit the "Found" button twice on a cache, it will falsely increment your count, and you'd have to start over. (I did this about 4 times until I got everything accurate).
  4. Repeatable map failure on one out of two PCs... For the same query, I get different results on my two PCs. I'm thinking there might be a screen size issue involved here. Action: From Cache Detail page for GC22VEJ, click Vew Map link just under coordinates. Results for Windows XP IE 6 laptop (screen1024 x 768): Map build starts, some cache icons are built (some partially), map controls show up and then nothing.... no map streets or background. This laptop has worked in the past under identical conditions. Results for Windows 7 IE 8 desk PC (screen 1680 x 1050): works fine.
  5. Nope... maps are not working. I can see the cache icons but not the streets. Interesitng that when you ask for satellite view, the street outlines will pop up but none of the image shows. Running Windows XP and IE 6. Good Luck, Kim
