  1. Please help, I'm getting pretty frustrated. We have the two Brunton Atlas GPS units. I bought the LEI card reader and Map Create series 6. I picked up two Sandisk 1 gig SD cards, one each for each GPS unit. We are leaving for a deer hunting trip on thursday morning. I spent most of my free time last weekend trying to load a map of our hunt area. First, I could not get the software to create a map on my computer. It would show the border and estimate the size, but when I clicked on "create map", it would just sit and not do anything. I finally tried loading the program on my wife's computer, and it looks like it creates a map. There's a file on the SD card with the name I gave it. Now, however, when we put the card in the GPS unit, it doesn't appear to recognize the map. If you go into MMC data, you can see the name of the map, but I can't figure out how to see it. According to the documentation on the Brunton Atlas, the map shpuld be visible as soon as the unit is powered up. Scrolling into the area where the map is supposed to cover just shows the same low resolution map that the Atlas has without the custom map in it.
  2. OK, I received the card reader for my birthday. I looked inside the Brunton, and there isn't any card in it. What brand/ size should I get? I don't want to get one and find out it won't work. Once I get a blank card, what is involved in getting it to work in the unit? Thanks, Sam
  3. Thanks for the link. One more question, do you need to buy the card separately? The description of the reader isn't clear, and I don't see a card elsewhere on that site. If I do need a card, where can I find one. Does it have to be formatted to work in the Atlas? Thanks again, Sam
  4. I have a Brunton Atlas, which as I understand is the same as a Lowrance. Would the EasyGPS work with this, and where do you get the cable to go between the gpsr and computer? Do you hook the gpsr directly to the computer, or is there a plug in flash memory card you have to use? Thanks, Sam
  5. That's right. Have fun! This sounds interesting. I have a Brunton Atlas, which as I understand is the same as a Lowrance. Would the EasyGPS work with this, and where do you get the cable to go between the gpsr and computer? Do you hook the gpsr directly to the computer, or is there a plug in flash memory card you have to use? Thanks, Sam
