Are you looking for a way to pawn off your old 45s on the geocaching community or do I see a theme cache on the way. icon_wink.gif

If they're not scratched already, they will be soon. icon_biggrin.gif

    So I score it...

    Mac toy --- 1

    45 vinyl --- 0

    Neither do I!

Geocaching.com is very protective about personal info. I've never heard of anyone having problems posting with their account.

  3. I never knew there where so many parks and great local places to hike till I started Geocaching.

Both my kids (15 & 8) love the sport! My 8 year old however doesn't really care for the virtuals, micros, and others without "loot". We're almost ready to hide my 8 year old's first cache.

Some people consider the hunt to be the true treasure.

  5. Wish I could of been there.

In response to garrettmaster1's comment I have a Nokia 8290 phone with an IR port. The first thing I did when I got my Palm was to beam over my phone numbers from my phone to the palm. Since then I beam back and forth all the time. One of my favorite tricks if I don't have my Palm with me is to enter a reminder on my phone and later beam it to my Palm. If I've set an alarm for the phone appointment, it comes over as an alarm on on my palm. To make things more interesting, after I sync with my Yahoo calendar, my Yahoo calendar will page my phone with a reminder.

  6. ...to fill an ammo can with dollar bills with some large bills for the first finders. I wouldn't make the ammo can to hard to find. On the other hand, the micro with the coordinates and the combination for the ammo can would be well hidden. Of course it would be on private land with well placed web cams. The land would be posted with signs reading "NO TRESPASSING WITHOUT GPS IN HAND."

Ditto the above minus the binoculars (I don't use them while Geocaching.)

Plus... Camel pack with H2O, LED headlamp, 2x2 ft. waterproof cloth to spread out cache items or sit on, 1st aid kit and last but far from the least my collapsible walking stick.

  8. There are several threads on this subject. (I can't give you a true "Markwell link" at the moment but do a search.) There is still some misunderstandings about GPSr by flight attendants. The general rule is that they're ok during flight but not during takeoff and landing for most airlines. Bottom line is it's up to the pilot. Try to get an ok next time before take off or ask to see the pilot for a minute.

Did we really shut down the satellites during the Gulf war? I thought they had ways to selectively to scramble the signal for specific areas.

220(rino 120, cable, basemap, exit info, 8 mb)

so for about 30 more bucks assuming you buy the cable seperate of 110, you get basemap, exit info and 8 more mb's.

    Do you agree? icon_rolleyes.gif

Since a cable is required to update software as well download waypoints from programs such as EasyGPS, it's a good idea to figure that cost into one's GPS purchase.

  11. I was beginning to wonder the same thing also. Of course Garmin hasn't had an update for the Vista for awhile. I don't think they've solved the time bug yet so I expect we'll be hearing from him with the next update. icon_wink.gif

I miss his insights. He may know more about the Vista than some of the Garmin folks.
