  1. Is there any difference other than language support between 5.0 English & this latest 5.0?
  2. Well not really but since it's been about 10 years I might as well be. I'm taking my kids to DC next week. I'll be bringing my laptop, 3 or 4 GPSrs, camera, and assorted accessories in a carry on bag. I'm flying Delta. Any tips?

  4. It's amazing the wealth of knowledge available on this forum. I would of thought a question like that would of gone unanswered for awhile. Instead we have an informed response in about a half an hour.
  5. Anyone else notice how many Garmin products are currently at version 3.20?
  6. Does Garmin ever actually update the maps in MapSource? How often? If so when was the last time?
  7. As a collector of flashlights, mostly LED ones, the LED museum is one of my favorite sites. Just about every LED flashlight has been tested there.

That's a enough of a reason for me to wait. Are there any improvements / updates?
  9. So that's where all the heads came from for the movie "Eight Heads in a Duffel Bag".
  10. Will someone post the results after they're anounced?
  11. Having 2 Rino 120 units would make me a perfect candidate to preform the experiment, if I understood exactly what you where trying to do. The Rino polling feature could be very helpful for the solo experimentor.

They read the note that states they shouldn't move it but they could join the world wide game of Geocaching. They take it to Skipper and MaryAnn begins to feel upset and panicked that they removed the cache from its location. Skipper tells little buddy to take it to the Professor and he will know what to do. Professor takes the contents of the cache and some palm leaf rope and string along with spare radio parts, and creates a GPS. Mr. & Mrs. Howell financially back the venture and Ginger tags along just for the publicity. Then Gilligan notices the log of cachers and they find out that they are not the only ones to have visited this island... ...In fact there are 2 teams currently competing for $1,000,000 by seeing who can survive the longest. ...
  13. quote:Originally posted by Life Journey:Does anyone know if you can find a card reader that reads SmartMedia cards, SecureDigital cards AND xD cards? ... My laptop card (a "6" in 1) reads all the above except xD. I think there is an adapter that adapts the xD to a one of the other cards, however. Note: The "6" in 1 readers count the hardware identical cards SD & the like separately to get the number "6". They really only adapt for 4 sizes.

  16. That's stange. Why do they prevent a direct link? Thanks for posting the screen shots.

  19. I have a pair of Rino 120s that I love. As far as accuracy, I prefer them to my Vista when I'm under tree cover.

  21. quote:Originally posted by st_richardson:They have some serious trade offs for their low price and shirt pocket size. (about the size of a good compass) No way to update software or download waypoints. No way to power externally. Limited or no ability to save tracks. It looks like the 201 & 301 have external connections for power & PC link. The Geko 301 also has a more pleasing color. I can actually look at it without thinking about reversing the eating process.
  22. quote:Originally posted by GOT GPS?:_Things that Garmin could do with the Gecko 101:_ They can put in Alarm clock features. They can give it Stopwatch features. They can bundle a family pack of 4 units in a small box for $200. Give them away free with a $500 order. Any other ideas??? I like the family pack idea. Well, Garmin thinks an electronic compass & a barometric altimeter are good ideas. Check out the 301. At the very least, the color choice is better. I can actually look at it without thinking of reversing the eating process. Click to check out the Geko 301 From Garmin... Gekos are the smallest and lightest waterproof GPS units on the market—inexpensive, with sleek designs and simple operating systems. With its sturdy, dark-gray case, the Geko 301 packs an amazing amount of functions into its slim frame. It has all the features of the Geko 201, plus an electronic compass and a barometric altimeter. The compass provides bearing information while you're standing still, and the altimeter determines your precise altitude and provides a 12-hour pressure-trend tool for gauging changing weather conditions. The Geko 301also includes five interactive games that transform the great outdoors into a virtual board game, including the new Gekoids, which takes advantage of the electronic compass. You can also enjoy a good workout while chasing a virtual lizard in Geko Smak, match symbols in a grid version of Memory Race, navigate to reference points without crossing one’s trail in Nibbons, and collect symbols along a path in Virtua Maze.
