  1. where's the Waymarking forum?
  2. I think that you should leave the jeep owned TB's alone. You don't own them, I'd be upset if someone changed my TB without asking. Go buy a TB tag and a jeep from wallyworld if you feel the need to mod a bug.
  3. I always thought it stood for 'What The Fetch' GOSH! (or possibly Flip) we need a smilie with an glasses and an afro!
  4. JUST KIDDING!! personally, I use the popcorn when there's an interesting subject that's sure to get a lot of replys(good or bad). To me it means 'just kick back and watch the fun,' nothing disrespectful intended.
  5. are we talking terrain? cuz we usually make it alot harder than it needs to be. We've successfully morphed a 3 star into a 5 star on several occasions(and climbed a few mountains that weren't neccesary). However I'm inclined to side with the people who say it doesn't mater what rating if it's a good find. I prefer high terrain ratings over difficulty(i.e. puzzles).
  6. try this thread there are some modded jeeps. I wouldn't go around endorsing this (well at least till the contest is over), I wouldn't want to be responsible for anyone losing the contest because of a bad mod.
  7. yesterday I was sitting at the kitchen table and the little neighbor boy dropped trou and started to pee in the shrubs! I couldn't believe it.
  8. hey ladycacher, what do use with your ZIRE? I just inherited a zire 71, until now I was using an old Vx with only cachemate, no GSAK tho. (is this the reccomended setup?)
  9. I would say no on the noise and the sticks/rocks, but I guess it depends.... read my post. I would reccomend this!
  10. A few years back we took a trip up thru Yellowstone and up to Glacier natl. park(yes we did a few caches). While we were in Yellowstone, we took a quick hike to Osprey falls, It was nice hike and on the way we spotted a small bear, we wondered if it was a cub and we had an extra sharp eye out for mom. Once we arrived at the falls, we talked with some other hikers that were there and told them to watch out for the bear. We spent some time at the falls and started to head back to the trailhead, well smack in the middle of the trail was this bear and about 10 feet away were the other hikers, taking pictures and generally being ignorant. Once they decided they needed the bear off of the trail to move on, they started THROWING ROCKS!! We were stopped further back on the trail waiting, watching. We did some major bushwacking up the hill to the next switchback of the trail, left those people to their own fate. Once we were established in Glacier for a day, we decided to do some hikes. We hiked several trails, spying several grizzlies in the distance. The last trail of the day was called 'Red Rock Lake'(I think), we started out with the sun low in the sky. We hiked fast as to make it back before sundown, we reached the lake clicked a few pics, and started our way back. The bugs were out in force, there were sevral spots where we ducked our heads and ran. As we were hiking, all of us were exhausted and walking silently from a full day of hiking. I had an inkling and started to try and talk or sing with the others, with failed attempts. We rounded a bend in the trail and there sat a HUGE Grizz(it seemed huge at the time) on the trail. We all stopped and quietly decided on a course of action. We all agreed it would be best to slowly back away. As we did so, the bear slowly lost interest and moved from the trail. Someone remembered that making loud noise was supposed to scare animals away. We started to shout and clap, and this regained the bears interest, he came back to the trail and swatted a big paw across the trail. Needless to say we shut up pretty quickly! Slowly the bear left the trail and as we deemed it safe enough to pass, we resumed our hike at a much faster pace, and we all changed our pants at the car!
  11. I'm not saying that no glitches ever happen, in fact I've experienced a few. But is the point I proposed previously(hooray for alliteration) entirely out of the question?
  12. we get that stuff every year around november/december.....
  13. Does it make a difference if it's set on 'max speed' vs. 'actual speed'? I mean doesn't the etrex record how fast you've gone overall? so maybe you went that fast on the way, not actually in the kayak, or if it was bought from someone maybe they went that fast, try a reset. Maybe I'm wrong, I don't mess with that part of things very often....
  14. i think you should wait for the owner to respond, give him/her some time, they may be on vacation or out of town, so it might be a while before they respond. keep trying. I don't think you should just go around putting new goals on other people's TB's tho. I don't even think you could change the TB page if you're not the owner, could you? The owner might want to place another goal while the TB is out, instead of traveling back home, he might want to go somewhere new. JM2¢
  15. this 'trick your jeep' theme is most likely in the last contest for a reason, i'm sure they don't expect them back, most people don't move them anyway..... but I wouldn't be suprised if people did rip 'em down and do some crazy stuff to them, but if I was to mod one, I would definately wait till the rules of the last contest come out. I don't want to be blamed for someone elses losing cuz they found an ugly jeep to take photos of. my advice: leave them 'au natural' till the contest says it's okay.
  16. hooray!! all hail king jeremy and his kingdom of lunacy(madmartys words, not mine)
  17. LOL I accept your apology on behalf of RockyRoad You guys are faster than me, I planned something evil like this! Appologies not accepted, I say we ban micro's and Jeremy that doesn't change the fact that rocky road is a rude, spoiled little child, and there's no excuse for the rudeness of those marshmallows or those little nuts!
  18. LOL I accept your apology on behalf of RockyRoad
  19. this has already been mentioned, but look anyway..... really interesting. Google Sightseeing
  20. kick 'em in the boys*. then when they're laying on the ground, you'll have plenty of time to find what you're looking for. *disclaimer: I do not endorse this activity, although funny, it may get the sh... beat out of you.
  21. that sure doesn't come across as being 'tolerant' "Hate" is intolerable ... period. Jan I just meant banning somebody for the use of a word 'hate' as it stands, does not come across as being tolerant. If we were truly tolerant, we would allow others to have and voice their opinions, smile and nod, and go caching tomorrow just the same. I agree there are some times that this needs a proactive solution, but not for disliking a certain type of cache, how trivial does that seem? anyway.... Pralines and Cream!!! MMMMM carry on....
