  1. My dog (Shar pei) has never bit anyone in her life but I know she can be a funny young thing when meeting strangers. So she is off the lead till i meet someone on the walk ... then she is told to wait (which she does) while I put her back on her lead. To me and TOH she is a mushy, loving dog.... but I would never presume for a moment she would be like that with strangers (especially men ... she has a thing about men till she knows them) so I put her back on the lead. What is the big deal with doing that? ... no sooner we are away from people I let her back off her lead (we don't walk where there are loads of people) I'm lucky enough to live right on a quiet beach where we meet hardly anyone ... but in the Summer I'm prepared. I can't believe this Woman would deny her dog bit you ..... but hopefully she is now aware that her dog does bite and will take precautions ... but I doubt it!
  2. I've got this vision of Deci leading a team of newbies through the looking for caches. "You've got 30 seconds to sign the log, do the swaps and rehide the cache" "You call that a fair swap?!!! get down and give me 20" "You call that hidden? A blind monkey could see it from a mile away, 5 circuits of the woods carrying a full ammo box above your heads" Oh I pictured all that too! And what makes you think he does not do that already? <shudder> Cheeky!
  3. Your not saying this happened at Wetherby? .... oh you lost me now.

  5. Did the CO have his contact number on the box? because if it was inside as most CO's put them, they wouldn't have opened the box because they thought it was a bomb! If they had been brave enough to open the box they would have saw it really was a geo-cache as stated on the front of the box. I read on another forum that it was obviously a geo-cache because it said so on the box .... and if it had been a bomb it would it say so on the box. Seems to me a real terrorist might use geo-caching as a ploy to plant a bomb & it might say 'harmless contents ... geo-cache?
  6. The Patrician's Flying Gannet I loved this picture so much ... i really must get a good camera!
  7. I applaud you... well done! I stopped smoking for 3 years ..... then 1 year .... then 8 months ..... then 6 months ... have been smoking again almost a year. This time I hope to stop it for good! I know I can do it ... i just know I can.
  8. That is so funny as i was just about to post about Bryn finding that cache of mine for you! I love that picture ... I don't Don't worry, its not a Gecko, its a Doyathinkhesaurus!
  9. If it's booked as 'wait and return', let's hope it's a quick find It's booked exactly as that... 10 minutes tops... Gonna be a dash n cache n dash! I think that is so cool! .... I know ... I'm easily impressed!
  10. That is so funny as i was just about to post about Bryn finding that cache of mine for you! I love that picture ...
  11. Here in North Wales I would never go out of my way for an FTF, i leave that to the experts: Mold Monsters & Lost n wet!
  12. Which reminded me of: Caches wrapped in socks! Almost every one of the 21 cache trail I found on Sunday was wrapped in a disgusting wet, snail ridden, stinky sock. What is that all about .... haven't they heard of Camo bags in Shifnal? I must add though that the walk was lovely.
  13. I live 5 miles from Llandudno and have loads of caches along the prom but they are only micro's I'm afraid..... but nice and easy to find. There are some nice big caches up on the Great & little Orme though .. (A couple of them mine).. and all well worth a visit.
  14. Female and a lone cacher .... so do it all! My other half doesn't get this caching at all but does love the fact it gets me out walking .... sometimes he comes along on long walks but doesn't stay around while i search for the cache..... Strange bloke!
  15. Sorry but this seems really silly to me, if you can't afford to put fuel in your car to rush out for an FTF (wether you find it or not?).... then why rush out at all? I'm not an FTF shark (even if I can afford to put fuel in my car, i don't waste it) ... but on the few occasions I have been in the right place at the right time, I wouldn't dream of logging straight away to say I found it. isn't this the fun of the FTF rush? I got told off once for not logging an FTF as soon as I got home to stop someone else detouring from work, going out of their way for the FTF. So they were mighty narked to see my name on the log. (I thought it was funny) My reply to them? ..... 'It's only a game!'
  16. I looked through my past caches and allocated a few (I've bound to have missed some good caches though, so will look again) I have allocated 36 so far with 105 in reserve. I'm just going to save them till i come across caches that i think deserve them.
  17. Nearest is 120 feet from my front door! When I first started geocaching I found the nearest was 350 feet from my house.
  18. Following is a Geocaching Addiction Test Do you have an addiction to geocaching? Only you can answer that question. Take the following quiz to help put your geocaching in perspective. If you end up answering "yes" to three or more questions, you may want to take a good look how your life is affected by geocaching. 1. Have you missed school, college or work because of geocaching? 2. Along those same lines, have you ever taken an entire afternoon for your lunch break because of geocaching? 3. Do you have trouble going anywhere without first checking to see if there is a geocache in that area you have not yet found? 4. Does the sport of geocaching come up in almost all conversations you have? 5. Do you consider the number of geocaches you have found to be guiding your self-confidence? 6. Do you use geocaching to help you relax? 7. Have you left home without something you are supposed to bring but never without your Geocaching bag? 8. Do you log in to Geocaching.com as soon as you wake up to see if there is a new cache in your area (OK, then how about just before you go to bed)? 9. Do you get lost driving the car, then recognise where you are by a cache location? 10. Do you shop in your local pound shop to get more "log books"? 11. Do you lie to others about how often you geocache? 12. Has anyone asked you to "Sit down, we need to talk" about your geocaching? 13. Does it take you 4 hours to drive an hour away? 14. Do you dream about caching? 15. Do you recharge your AA batteries every night? 16. Are your pockets full of swag, pencils, spare batteries? 17. Do you care if you answered yes to all 17 questions? Show the world how strong you are. You can stop Geocaching anytime you want. Right? Really you can...
  19. It might help new comers if you say the rough area you cache in. I noticed that Sammy never came back to reply so: ............Stormydown is from the land of a million caches .... Chorley!
  20. 762nd on the UK list? ....... (Note to myself: must get out caching more this Summer)
