  1. We've hosted over 100 events under different community names for various groups. We have done them overseas and for every event under the sun that HQ offers a souvenir. I don't see a single thing wrong with you setting up an event that only you attend. Here is why, you set it up. That is it. Many people won't even do that so your 20 miles ahead. Who cares, your not calling people names, your not making holes in telephone poles or hosting events at sexy coffee shops....oops, yea I did that. But you get it, there is to much real stuff in this world to worry about, than if no one attends your event. I canceled one event because we only had a single "will attend" log. I never heard the end of it, so never cancel. Though I've never hosted an event where there weren't at least 4 other cachers, but who knows it could happen this weekend! Just have a ball! Happy Caching!!!
  2. I spoke with Jen last week about Kennewick and the pass words will be given for the missing caches.
  3. Thanks SP&S for doing this. Most people don't know this but a couple years ago we had to place new caches in over 1/3 of the Hermiston cache machine caches on route. Yea about 30 cache containers! We had a crew of 10-15 all go do it over a couple weekends. That didn't include wet logs and new containers. Really you would of been done with that CM by about 3pm if we hadn't of done so. Also it must be said that we do keep caches active from past members whom have passed and a few of them are on the Tri-City rout map also. So SP&S was doing nothing we don't all do out here in GCSEWA area. Others are checking and fixing other people's caches currently, we all just want our guest to make the finds and have a good time.
  4. Could you give me the cache names or GC numbers? On draft 2, #76 isn't yours, but #45 is (GC2ZM5J Don't Subscribe it Reduces Cache Time!). On draft 1, #45 isn't yours, but #76 is (GC20J6V Secret Hiding Place, now stop #92). Are these the two you're thinking of? Yes delete my GC2ZM5J, Don't Subscribe it Reduces Cache Time and GC20J6V Secret Hiding Place. Sorry about confusion. We have a pathtag that goes with the Geo HoHoHo 2015 series this year also. We have a few left. Folks would have to contact me or ACFunk to get it once done.
  5. I would like it if you took 76, off list, it is mine and to many people will invite the law, also remove 45, its mine also, not safe for a lot of cars, maybe add GC5RDNA. 19 is in a very popular grave yard and it is very busy on Saturdays, so it wouldn't be good to piss the grave yard owners off. I would put GC28M91 on to replace it, is in yard but owners are super. thanks Mike
  6. They published "Lunch In Hermiston", GC4ZQEK, today. Please know we are looking for $5 donations/meal to make this a success. I have to go back and check on 8 caches we didn't get a chance to work on today. These two are not them. Our team didn't make a log for each cache they found or fixed so I am sure that GC1D2W2 and GC1F4D3 are fine. We didn't log them all because then it is just not as fun for the next guy! LOL I will place notes on Draft 3 later, if needed. But I am sure you will want to add the Lunch stop's GC number. Happy Caching!
  7. Many Cachers came today to clean up cache areas. About 15 were replaced and another 20 wet logs were replaced lots of trash was removed! All of the caches mentioned above have been replaced or disabled. With the exception of sink hole GC2y9hz and we have another team looking at 8 more caches around that one. CG3J6JG is also good. We have one called Under The Sea (GC4H0V2), that couldn't be found and we are still working on it. It is a great place to visit so I hope we get it replaced. Stop 45 is good and we will try to make a event out of it also. It will be Burgers, dogs, chips and a pop or water for a 5 buck donation, 6 if these dadgum food prices keep going up, LOL The Hermiston Park district is setting this area up for us as a favor since they usually don't set up till April 1st. We will also be coaching them for a coin event hopefully soon. I would like to thank Tumbleweed2, Dead Sailor and his buddy, Wild Ponies, SP&SFAN, Badger 10 and family, AC Funk, hurshh, Quadsinthemudd, ihavecats, Karl@work and I am pretty sure that was it for all the help they did today. It was cold and windy with flurries stirring and lots of man-hours were spent out there today but the company made it all just fine! We hope you all enjoy your trip to NE Oregon and SW Washington for your geocaching fun. (Tourism Board here I come!) LOL
  8. I am compiling all the notes off this board and we will look at and assist the MIA's then check the ones that haven't been found in awhile and review route. Looks like about 5 different groups will be looking into this with us. Will get back on here by Sunday with results.
  9. A group of us will go down in a couple weeks and look at all of them and give a full report.
  10. Whew, don't have to work on the bookmark tonight. Do you make note of the stops where the Discover Pass is needed so those of us without one can go elsewhere? A Discover day pass is $10 - less than the gas we'll use. Just sayin'.... $11.50, and then finding a place that sells it, just sayin' ... Seriously? That's darned cheap if you use it at several places in one day, and split the cost among those in the car. And the Discover Pass is sold lots of places, including most sports/outdoors stores (REI, Big 5, etc.) and online. If you get it at a State Parks ranger station, it is just the $10 (that's what I pay Easton for all the day passes for APE event). I wager you toss $10 down for a lot of other stuff you don't enjoy as much as a cache machine. And with our legislature threatening to completely defund the state parks in 2013 (which includes the Fish and Wildlife areas), they need all the help they can get, esp if we want to continue using them. We get the State Park plates on our Cachemobile, I have to say it looks pretty cool with the Geocaching License plate trim. It is our way to support State Parks and caching. I encourage more to get the plates they are good looking and support our hobby in some degree. Specialty plates are very cheap in this state compared to others so it is a cool way to custom your rig also. I have them on most my cars.
  11. Found rooms at Super 8 in Long Beach for 55/nt, and continental breakfast at 6 am. Ask for Christine. Looks likes this will be another fun Cache Machine!
  12. No, that is AWFCM (Astoria WaterFront Cache Machine). That is because Travisl broke the routes into two distinct groups. One, ACM (Astoria Cache Machine), is the normal Streets and trips he normally uses with its numbering sequence. The water front list is the one he did with other software and has google earth pictures. This is the AWFCM list. Since both start with 1 and have duplicated numbers I decided to have two bookmark lists that reflect the two distinct parts of the cache machine. If you download and look at the .pdf that Travisl posted it should be more apparent. And yes, you could somewhat consider them two separate routes since the waterfront route is mostly walking or trolley rides, although someone did mention you can drive to different parts of the route to cut down the walking. This something I do on my own to help the folks that attend the cache machine, Travisl had nothing to do with it or did he provide input other than publishing his .pdf of the cache machine caches he selected. Hope this helps. Don't post much here but worth the time to say thanks jholly for the route maps they help a ton. Used them in three Cache Machine's and work great. Everyone has one in hand, so Thanks!
