  1. I had that model a year and a half ago. I may be rusty on this remembering back First you load the disk that came with the triton on your computer. I Then load your pocket queries or caches into that program. You then use that program and the special cable, to load it into the Magellan. (there is a button to upload to the triton unit) I liked it, and never had problems with that particular model.
  2. I am not speaking for other reviewers... If I see the requirement, it is an ALR, and against the spirit of a trackable. I will ask that it be removed before I publish it. In essence if they threaten to delete your log, or logs on other caches because you took 2-3 trackables without leaving any, it is an ALR. They may say "Please trade fair" or similar terms, they can't require it. If someone adds an ALR after I publish it, and I have asked them not to include it, I most likely will archive it immediately.
  3. Oh no... I just logged two events... I AM UP TO THREE.... woo hoooo.
  4. You forget something... As a reviewer you have to give a few things up. I used to love the FTF chase. I did not do it often, but I loved trying to hurry to those and grab them. I have hurried to them to put a personal unactivated coin now, then publishing it, but it is not the same. If you miss reviewing in your area.. you get emails wondering what happened. If you only have time for 4-5 caches.. people wonder about theirs. People complain about other cachers, nanos, hard caches, puzzles, thieves, their neighbors, police, and the government, oh and not to forget saturation, commercial, challenge caches, bonus caches, ones near dumpsters, coin burglers, trackable hotel raiders, caches too close, ones that they can't find, the horrible job you are doing, wondering if you drove out to check their cache before you listed it and if it is in good shape, and anything that they want to under the sun. I think that about does it.
  5. There are times when we are gone for a day or two. I think the 72 hours lets us be gone for a weekend trip and still get back to it. If we have questions we also may contact a few other reviewers to ask them their opinion. If you are wondering shoot your reviewer an email if its longer then 72 hours (3 days). I set one difficult one aside once for a bunch of easy ones, asked opinions, and had forgotten to get back to it.
  6. It is kind of desolate. You can post on the www.utahgeocachers.com forum. That is far more active then people here. I list a lot of caches about 25 miles south every day. But someone may drive up and give you a hand. it is pretty desolate and dry out that direction.
  7. No, we don't know that yet. What makes you suspect GC1A7X4? 16 TBs in a TB Hotel is not unusual, (although actually this is what is considered by some to be a TB Prison because of the swapping stipulation:) I look at them as an ALR, and will not approve them with that stipulation. When caching, I normally ignore the prison requirement...the bugs/coins are not theirs.
  8. Personally, I have never seen one on a grave, and only one, by some cachers that put out a rash of inappropriate caches when they first started and before they disappeared from sight, that was even near a headstone. More often than not, they are in the arborvitae trees that seem to be ubiquitous in this area. I guess i should say on or around. A tree 5 feet away, or 15 feet would be too close for comfort for me. But in the shrubs around the edges. I would not approve one in an graveyard where people may walk around or on graves. Many consider that disrespectful.
  9. The problem would be .. who is to judge.. Here is a historical marker... we list it. here is my old house.. do we list it? Who judges them worthy? One of the reasons reviewers hated Virtuals is the judging of the "wow factor" of the site. That upset people. To have someone hundreds or thousands of miles away determine if it should be listed. Yep better off on Waymarking.
  10. I recently saw a temporary multi to an event. The even was only an hour long. So do the 5 mile multi quickly or you miss out on the food.
  11. Depends on the cemetary. Some are very open, and you can get around the outside and place them and stay out of the way. My personal preference would be to never approve a cache near or on graves. That is one quick way to get people upset. Gazebos, around the perimeter, info kiosks, they all need to be done with care.
