  1. Ohhh I love it! That's so sweet! I'd wondered why you wanted the business card. I don't mind people using the shop photos on their geocoin page. Also, that picture is just too cute.
  2. I received my cloisonne version last night, and it is really stunning. I appreciate all the thought you put into these coins lasting a long time. Thanks so much!
  3. I find that for events, it's often more important that it's close to alcohol than being close to nature.
  4. One more for now. I was lucky enough to get a chance to go into antelope canyon near Page, AZ with my tripod and camera setup. While we were there, the sun passed directly overhead, casting sun shafts into the very thin slot canyon. I was setting up this shot, and some small animal (lizard maybe?) caused the sand to shift and create a small sandfall. I made two crops of this same picture, because I was having fun. full picture: Nearest geocache is: GC16ANF
  5. Thank you for the bump! I was trying to remember where this thread went. This was taken at the Pigeon Point lighthouse in California. We stopped here after a long day of caching up the coast with a friend, and this was the northern-most point of our trip. The cache we found was GCYGEB which is about 10 feet away from where this picture was taken. The fog was rolling in and soon after we saw why it was so important to have a lighthouse, the rock you see in this picture became invisible in the fog in minutes!
  6. Exciting. I look forward to seeing where it moves next!
  7. >< How the heck did I miss that?! That's really awesome.

    Sun Rose

That's a really neat effect. Also, I love the way these turned out!
  9. Yeah, he passed in January, finally losing the battle to cancer. :( There is a thread on the forum here: http://forums.Groundspeak.com/GC/index.php?showtopic=265405&st=0
  10. Ooooh, I really like the way you took it! Also, i like the 11:11 better than 11:00. I know, there's always one! I guess my only feedback (which you're welcome to ignore) is that I wish the poppy was more rounded instead of having the sharp corners. Of course we're running into the cw88 coin look-a-like issue at that point maybe? Anyway, I love it! Wait for my version where I want each poppy to be a different color
  11. I don't think it was done maliciously, he's not the seller. But yah, one of those board etiquette things you will learn about. The main difference between what was linked and what is being sold here (okay, other than one being a geocoin that's been approved by Groundspeak and the other being a non-Groundspeak trackable object) is that the thing you found uses soft enamels, while these geocoins use imitation hard enamel (IHE). Not only do they look different, but with soft enamel, it is standard to add the metal plating before the enamel, whereas with IHE, the metal plating is added afterwards. The base metal for geocoins is a bright yellow color. So a black nickel coin with soft enamel will be a translucent color over a black metal (looks really muddy), but with IHE it will be over yellow instead of black and the color is brighter/truer. Now there must be something different with antiquing (especially antique copper) since it effects the colors so much, but I have never had it confirmed one way or another. This is all probably a lot more than you wanted to know, but there you have it.
  12. What fun! Thanks for the cointest. Let's see. I have lots of photos from throughout the years, but as I don't want to deal with scanning a slide to meet your requirements, I'll stick to the digital ones. Entry #1 - Monument Valley Navajo Tribal Park I went on a hike here, starting when it was dark to get this photo during the sunrise. Our guide was super knowledgeable and I was really happy he was there, or I would have gotten terribly lost. He had grown up in the reservation in the area and he had a lot of historical information. Once you get off the beaten paths, you rarely see anyone else. Nearby virtual cache - GCHHXG
  13. Ooooh I love Sunset and Night!! Beautiful coins.
  14. What! They are sold already? We have out of country visitors from Germany so was entertaining. Nope, they haven't sold out. Plenty for everyone!
  15. Since it's a Friday, I believe we're starting ours at 6p or so. I think the official end time is 11:11.
  16. Perhaps multiple poppies instead of just 1? Like...maybe 11 of them! Anyway, I know whatever you design will be awesome, so I won't design by committee on you and just trust I'll like it.
  17. I have to thank my friend, wikipedia. I love how these turned out and I'm very excited that I will be able to get one! I can't wait to see how the cloisonne turns out!!
  18. I'll give this a go. Solar radiance - Gold, radiates like the sun Sidereal radiance - Silver, shining like the stars Vestal radiance - Copper, warm like Vesta's hearth (Roman goddess of the hearth) Vitreous Radiance - Mystery, using a porcelain (glass) enamel finish
  19. It'd be nice to have a break from the compass rose style design. On the other hand, the greek one doesn't have nearly enough areas to color for it to get confusing and angst-ridden. Please advise.
  20. All orders that came in before 10p (pacific) last night went out in today's mail. Thanks everyone!
  21. Sweden would be awesome! There's some chance I'll be moving there next year. Wherever it is, I have high hopes that I will be able to attend! Can't wait to hear where it ends up!
  22. Also, please note that I combine shipping if you make two purchases in the same day (or before I ship stuff out, but I'm doing a shipment tonight ) Especially prudent given the store wackiness today.
