  1. Santa Cruz coins just showed up on my doorstep! The mint picture (as usual) did not do them justice. I'm really pleased with them, they're quite pretty! Wish the poppy was a bit more orange but what can ya do. :) (Well, use trans #4 instead of trans #18/19, but shhh) ANYWAY. They're pretty and I'm happy!!

Pictures tomorrow when the light is better!

  2. I also created a wolf coin (called Wolf Song). Although I don't have any left, you can probably find some for trade. It was a GCF 2010 coin, and you can see pictures of them here:

I thought these were originally set to be remade as non-GCF versions. What happened?

I hit my dissertation year of my PhD. ;) They may come in the future, I certainly haven't discounted it!

  3. Ah well, thanks for the update. I'll look for the coin I wanted over there. :)

Also, part of the problem is timing. Offloading coins the week of the first European GeocoinFest means a lot of people are traveling and/or saving money for the coins at GCF.

With that said, good luck with your sales!

  4. Oh yay, thank you!!! I loved the first coin in this series, but never got a chance to get one. I'm so happy I get to get this one! :D

That trip was incredible. I went with another photographer, and so we did a lot of photo tour things, which meant our tours were timed for the best light, and we got to see areas off the beaten path. The antelope canyon picture I entered was from the same trip. I definitely have great memories, although I have to say "monument VALLEY" is still 5000'+ elevation and at 6a I was FEELIN' that hike out there. Wow, I have never felt so out of shape in my life! Also, I really have no idea where we were. We drove off road for a while (well, our guide did) and hiked in the dark to catch the sunrise. Our vantage was positioned so that we could catch the sun rising in the little nook between the first two pillars, as you can see here:

Once the sun had risen, I turned my camera around and lowered the tripod a bit and caught the picture I entered.

Thanks again for the cointest and I feel very honored to have one of my photos featured. :D There were some incredible photos entered!

  5. I've slowed down on collecting these days, until I finish my dissertation. However, I still dream of owning these coins someday:

    1. Colonel Cachington's Unicorn - I am lucky enough to have the dragon, and when I saw this one I just fell in love with it!

    2. Geocaching Gone to the Dogs (the one with all the dogs on one side) - I adore this coin. Even though there isn't a saint Bernard on it.

    3. Cat Got Your Cache - Calico/White cat edition - a girl can dream, right?

    4. Mousekakat Suncatcher - Still dreamin!

  6. Ooooh I'm excited I made the top 5, and that's some awesome competition! You'll have a great coin regardless of which one ends up winning. :)

I will refrain from voting, however, because my vote would be too obvious!

    Thanks for a great cointest!
