  1. I have seen some areas that I dont think you could avoid being seen. I have tried to go after some that were micro in areas full of people. How do you be stealthy looking for a micro in an area full of people? Now I wont even search for those caches. When someone hides one like that, it is only a matter of time until it comes up missing. If someone dont want it stolen, dont hide it where someone can easily be seen looking for it.
  2. Litium-ion rechargable battery for the Garmin Rino 520 &530 including the HCX. This is new, never installed. I have 3 of these and only need 2. https://buy.garmin.com/shop/shop.do?pID=1166 $50 shipped in the CONUS You can check my feedback on ebay-rev8600 Want to offer here before it goes to ebay.
  3. I had my 520 replaced with the HCX and have not had the problem since. They have a problem and have been told about it a lot. Some of the techs may deny knowing about it though. I have heard of the problem a lot.
  4. Got mine from Amazon also $59.10-$30 for visa application $29.10- $30 upgrade rebate -.90. I am getting paid to buy it.
  5. They had me download the beta version software. All it did was make my accuracy go bad. I sent it back and they replaced it with the 520 HCX and I have not had a problem with it yet.
  6. I had ordered one from tvnav but they didnt have them so I order it from PC Nation and got it last week. I just got a call from tvnav and they now have them. http://tvnav.com/
  7. I installed my topo on a 1 GB card. I put Oregon, Montana, Utah, Wyoming, Idaho, Nevada, Arizona, half of New Mexico and half of Colorado on it all at one time with no problem.
  8. Why do you need a 4 GB? I bought the 1 GB and my entire western USA topo disk is on 565 MB. My understanding is that you cant load more than 1 set of maps on to an SD card. Is there a way for me to put more on it? Can you put the topo and the streets on the same one?
  9. I find a lot of them in the green water control boxes. These have been dug and put in the ground for the cache, then the cache placed in the green box. By those rules this is not to be done then? It was done in a cache that was put in place by Utah Division of Natural Resources.
  10. I just talked to Garmin about my Rino and asked about the Vista Hcx problems. He is not aware of any problems with it freezing up but was aware of the WAAS bug. He said he they are not sure if it only does it when it loses contact with the WAAS satelite or if it is something else. The gentlemen I talked to used one this last weekend and noticed it also. I said it is a much better unit than the 60Cx that he has. Hopefully they will have a fix soon. I have one on its way so I hope it does not have the problem
  11. I just talked to Garmin and they are aware of the problem. He told me to install the version 2.33 beta. It is supposed to fix the problem.
  12. I got mine to work now. I cannot use it while logged on to msn through qwest. I have to open IE to use it.
  13. The freezing up and not being able to power down is happing with the Rino 520 and 530 also. I have found about 12 people that own them and 8 of them are having problems with it freezing up when they use the find function. I will be contacting Garmin on Monday. They have a big problem that needs to be addressed. I just ordered a Vista Hcx yesterday and now wonder if I should cancel my order. I dont need another gps with a problem.
  14. I am comparing the new high sensitive models for reception. I dont care about the old models. The legend, 60 and Rino 520
  15. Maybe I should have just asked what the difference is in reception between each model. Since I didnt see anywhere it stated which antenna it has I used the term internal and external figured that was clear enough to understand!!
  16. Tiger gps is $226 for the legend and $250 for the vista.
  17. I am looking to buy another Garmin. I need some input from someone that has used external and internal antenna models. Is there any difference in the ability to aquire satelites. I am looking at the legend, 60 and Rino. I know they have different functions, I am just wondering about quality of reception.
  18. I havent yet. I wanted to see if there was anyone else having the problem before I called. I am sure they will tell me they havent heard of it. I just got this one from them about a month ago. I took it and an extra lithium battery in trade for the 530 I was having problems with. After waiting 5 weeks and being told 3 times that it had shipped to me, I finally got told they didnt have any 530's and didnt know when they would get some. Havent been to happy with their customer service so far.
  19. I have the Rino 520 and my brother has the 530. We have both had the sreen or whole unit just freeze up. You can not scroll through anything. No matter what you do it will not work. When it does it you can not even shut it down. I have to disconnect the battery to shut down. I have an older 120 that has done it a couple times lately and it has never given me any problems. We have not downloaded and updates recently. Also my 520 has been upto 1/4 mile off on the coordinates while looking for a cache. My 120 was the one that found it. The 520 and 530 came with the up to date version. There is a beta version out but I have not installed it. Has anyone else had these problems.
  20. I cant get it to work either. Tried it with my Garmin Rino. My brother cant get it to work. I tried the GSAK but it dont work.
