  1. Our office first started off using Timble Scouts that were curved and about the size of a small brick. They only displayed lat and long, no map, and just told you where you were. The menu was awful and they took four AA batteries that lasted about four hours. I was the first to talk my boss into a new Garmin blue Legand on a field trip in 2000. What an improvement. We also had a Plugger (PLGR ?) it was always out to be encrypted and took forever to warm up.
  2. I've had a 255w for about a month now and it has been a great automotive GPS. What surprised me is that on the interstate even some of the ramps are in the maps. I went into the Garmin Garage on line and added a vehicle icon that is similar to what I drive. The hardest thing about the unit is getting it back from my kid. His friends give lousy directions. MB
  3. I'm looking for a handheld that I can use for multiple purposes from Geocaching to cycling (road) to hiking. At work I have a 60cx (2006) and an old blue legend that works sometimes from 2000. I can use either on a limited basis. I've narrowed it down to either the Legend HCX or the 60CX with price not being a factor. Are there any adavantages of one over the other? Thanks MB
