  1. I have come across a few of these "camps" in the last year and a half of caching. I am not sure what a knife would have done to the situation, but I know I always carry one as well. Not just for protection, but it is nice knowing you have it in your pocket. Luckily each time I have stumbled upon these areas nobody was "home". Makes you nervous though.
  2. When I first started a year ago I had probably 15-20 caches within 5 miles of my house...the closest being .5 miles away. Now that some more cachers have popped up, including ourselves, there are probably 45-50 caches within 5 miles, and the closest .2 miles away.
  3. You know for a fact that this so called person has an account and is reading these forums. I don't know why they would turn off their comments section of the blog, seems pretty cowardly to me. You would think if they are so passionate about their cause they would want to voice that opinion and defend themselves. I know we are all reading this on a worldwide forum, but this person seems to be lacking what I call keyboard confidence. They hide behind their monitor and suck in all of the attention they can get no matter how they can get it. This person will give their opinions on their blog and allow nobody to counter that argument, or to shed more light on the subject. This causes even their followers to draw back due to lack of ability to agree or point/counterpoint the issues. So, I dare the blogger to get out from behind their little bubble of confidence and defend their argument. My caching blog is linked below, feel free to comment on my blog if you feel so inclined, I even have a chat you can join in! Kevin & Ruth a.k.a. MuddyBottoms Ripon, WI
  4. Now this coward has turned off all comments on the blog! They said the negative comments do not bother them, well obviously they do! They will fade away.
  5. I am 28, my wife is 26, and we cannot get enough of this sport, as we are relatively new the sport we go every chance we can get. We have been to a couple of events and were surprised that the average age seemed to be between 35 and 55. We had visions before we met any cachers that for some weird reason they were all in their twenties. It is great to see such a diverse age group enjoying the hobby.
  6. Yeah, I am heading to an event as well, was hoping to pick up some along the way...dang. Oh well, I am sure they are doing what they can. Hope they are back up before we leave in the morning.
  7. I have had my blog up since last September with limited traffic, I am trying to get more. I do have it set up as a more public blog, where anyone can become an author. Just simply send me an e-mail(in the blog) and I will set you up as an author. I just also recently added a chat room...hop on and chat for a while!! The Cache Bar
  8. This happened this year to us...our gag gift from our friends was hidden in the yard, and we were given coordinates to find it.
  9. Well I just placed two new ones in Ripon, they are easier ones, but fun nonetheless. I plan on doing some more in the area sometime soon. So, there ya go!!
  10. I am new here myself...only have a few finds, and one hide. No finders yet, just went up yesterday. I live in Ripon, but plan on caching all over the state. Going to Colorado/Wyoming/South Dakota Next week...plan on logging a few that way as well.
