  1. Yes this "rubberband" effect is what is happening...I will try to save and remove all previous tracks and see if that clears problem. Thank you everyone for the assistance so far.
  2. Yes thats what I'm trying to create..... it is linking up to a previous track and is not "plotting" my current path.... what set up have I messed up?
  3. Hi all, despite owning this unit for a couple of years...I seem to have lost a section of my memory that would help me answer this question.... I wish to use the "tracks" feature to plot out a route that I'm traveling along.... everytime I switch it to 'on' it just shows my current position with a line back to my last correctly plotted track....it does not show the route I'm actually moving along. What have I forgotten? Please help.
  4. Please follow my link to read my log about my encounter in Birds Hill Park in Manitoba Canada, As an Englishman now living here it was quite a scare. http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_detai...09-b098f6a299b6
  5. Hi OBG, Do you know if this works on the 60Cx as well...I'm kinda retarded on the rech side of caching. btw MBGA rocks.
  6. Thank you... Great Idea and myself and my family are going to attend the next event in a few days.
  7. Hello all, I'm a relative newbie to this but would like to try a few trips out with fellow seekers of all things hidden... I just need a little more encouragement to get my bum off this chair and out hunting. If you live in Winnipeg ( I'm in E.K. ) and would like a new person to tag along with you let me know. I'm on here as a Premium member and also a MBGA member
  8. Wow...sounds easy.... thats why I did not understand. THX
  9. Hi all, can anyone explain just how I set up a notifacation to text my cell phone.? All I can find is email nothing about cell numbers, please help.
  10. I'm not sure but A decent hike in to find would be the best deterant. I agree that "forgetting" to mention AMMO on your description would be a good idea, use the size but not the actual physical description. Good luck and may your awesome ammo (shh don't say it too loudly) cans be safe for a long time and be enjoyed.
  11. wouldnt kitty litter and rice react in the same way the dessicant pouches would? Once they are full thats it. I know we can't add food.... but in a survival situation the cold re hydrated rice would keep you alive in those isolated locations?
  12. Thank you... another idea done many times before I think. The custom machined "container" that I have made has a false bottom with industrial dessicant held under it. I hope my hours of machining pay off with a Cache that challenges and delights in equal measures.
  13. Just a thought...I've not read about or found so far....but does anyone ever use a dessicant pouch in thier caches? I'm building a few at the moment and will report on the success of the dessicant on keeping the paper content DRY.
  14. True true true...do you think "they" are reading this thread and laughing?
  15. It's listed at 103 now time to write down all the single letters and find out the answer ?
  16. OMG. thank you all. May the sun shine on your face and a warm wind gently push you to each and every cache you seek. BTW in Winnipeg this only happens for about 5 months a year. lol. I'm a machinist by trade and have already started to use my mad inventor head and will be scattering my first couple of hides in my local area very soon. I would love to be known for my sense of uniqueness for my caches. Thank you all again.
  17. Well as a reletive newbie to this exciting new pastime for me, I wanted to ask where fellow cachers find suitable containers to hide for the rest of us? I live in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. I have been looking in local toy shops and just about everywhere I go. I have today found a jem of a store that seems to have been filled with almost boundless possibilities for containers. It's called Princess Auto found at N 49' 53.802 W 097' 04.435 (actually the location of a nice cache right outside the store)
