  1. Geocaching hiding guidelines make it clear that caches should be available for the long term. The example they use is 'Temporary caches intended to stay active for fewer than three months will not be published.' What I'm not sure about is whether this is a good cut off point to use, or or bare minimum. Would a geocache that was only expected to last six months be poor form? Nine months? I'd like to make some caches, but my future plans after July are up in the air. I'd like to get a sense of whether it's worth placing some now, or if relatively short lived caches would be technically within the guidelines, but would generally be frowned upon.
