Where do you buy the little micro container thingies?
Rustynails replied to black_cat1's topic in General geocaching topics
AX-MAN surplus store. https://www.ax-man.com/ Lots of different size containers and weird stuff for cache hides. Also tott items. -
Just received this evening. Hello rustynails., Your geocache, Don't Climb the Pine Tree (GC4QFHN), looks like it might need some attention. Yes. computers can't read. I never expected their computer could read logs.
-
Not changing D/T. In this area we define this style hide as high terrain. Also the topic is health scores not terrain.

1 1/2 D and 4 1/2 T https://coord.info/GC4QFHN

This feature's appears defective. I have a cache that HQ's computer has indicated on my cache owner dashboard as low health. The last three logs are dnf-find-find. The dnf logged states they could see it but not able to retrieve due to their tool not up to the task. There are NO needs maintenance logs. You should always review logs before doing a maintenance run, glad I did. Never ever trust a computer.

What is the longest running annual geocaching event?
Rustynails replied to res2100's topic in General geocaching topics
Sadly large events can happen in South Dakota. The Governor had no problem inviting hundreds of thousands to Sturgis. I know a caching events happen with one that I know last month. -
I did have full phone coverage when this happened. For some mysterious reason I couldn't get close enough to trigger the question.
-
Since ALs can only be done using phones, I can confirm phones suck for caching. I was not able to do an AL due to no phone service. I did find a cache using my gpsr. While doing an AL in a large city I couldn't get closer than 50-60 ft of triggering the question regardless of which direction I walked.
-
Simply adding ALs to the existing geocaching map would allow for filtering. However, GS refuses to do this.

Is there anyway to view individual star ratings on ones own Adventure lab ?
-
I have noticed today my count is not adding up. Looks like this flaw has been happening for more than a week. It has NOT been addressed here. Is this another case of issues being ignored ?
-
Not so simple. I sent them my questions and was told they are not currently available, nothing more. We already know they're not available so more detailed information would have been nice. I guess scanning and refreshing on the tiny phone screen is all we have for now.
-
Then, what does it mean? I'm of an older generation where answering a question is considered polite and considerate If not public a private email would be nice. I may be traveling soon so seeing ALs on my computer would help. Scanning and refreshing on the tiny phone screen is annoying.
-
GS has not answered my questions or other similar questions I've seen posted. This speaks volumes.
-
I don't want it buried there. This is also a caching topic. Are you a mod? If not do you have an answer for my question ?
-
I enjoy finding Adventure Labs and have created one. There are two things GS refuses to add. Why? 1. Owner notifications. Notification are used for all other types but not labs. 2. Map of Adventure Lab locations that can be seen from your PC. Just adding them to the existing geocaching map would be an easy solution.

Adventure Lab in Treasure Lake DuBois, PA
Rustynails replied to DOBBY8's topic in Playing Adventures
This reflects a major flaw with lab caches. Owners DO NOT receive notifications of lab cache completions. The owner will never know about a problem unless contacted or check activity. -
Covid19 causing some parks to close
Rustynails replied to Mn-treker's topic in General geocaching topics
With no work right now I'm getting a few caches on most days. I've been to different metro parks here and haven't seen any closed. This is a good thing because sitting at home all day is not physically healthy. Fresh air and exercise is keeps one healthy. As for our volunteer reviewers, they do a great job. I recently had questions, he was very helpful answered quickly. I've never had problems with this Minnesota reviewer, maybe it was in the way you communicate. -
I wonder how many tested false positive and reported as real? The testing is new, so I'm guessing the positive numbers we see are not very accurate.
