  1. I have often heard of people refer to geobeacons. What exactly are geobeacons?
  2. Where do I find the travel bug print out form that one puts with the bug.
  3. What map should i use with my garmin 60CSx? North amrican street or topo? And where can I find a cheap micro card.
  4. What about caches that are abandoned and the owner is not found? If achieved is there a waiting period?
  5. How does one go about adopting a cache? How is this done? Thanks
  6. WOW! I did not know so many people worship the king. I for one belive there is only one God. I will post no more on this topic. I just wanted a place to hide my cache. It's sad that people get so upset. As I Noted: This topic is just a question and NOT a reference to any particular individual. I have never met the king and only first heard of him when some one posted his name on this topic. Please don’t be offended. Play fair and be nice. Good bye, rusty
  7. Boy, was I surprised when I went into your profile to see where you are caching, and noticed that there were red checkmarks next to most of them (meaning that I have found them). You're in King Boreas country... better get used to it! He has a problem? Never thought of that. Maybe his problem is that he keeps finding places to hide caches. Since he is the King he has a team of minions that do cache maintenance for him. While your looking things up look up OzGuff and AD0OR. Runner ups include Wheeler Dealers and IceCreamMan. CCooperAgency is not hiding any more. Jim
  8. Shoe fits?????? Do you know what your talking about?

  10. Is there a guide line for the number of hides one can have in an area? I am trying to put together my first hide and notice that some people have a large number of hides in one area. This makes it difficult to find a good spot. Is this considered rude behavior or arrogance by other cacher’s? Note: This is just a question and NOT a reference to any particular individual. Please don’t be offended.
  11. Two thoughts. It's not just you. However there is nothing wrong with a guy in a playground looking for a cache. The larger problem is living in the world where a guy can't enjoy time in a park without getting glares. Seriously, if someone comes to harm a kid while you are there, you just going to let it stand? The kids safer for you being there. Watching kids play is a treat in this world. It reminds us of simpler days when just running barefoot was a joy in itself, before we all took on adult responsiblites and slogged off to work, slaves to the grind. I agree with knight. I cache alone most of the time and should be able to search with out getting the look. But these day's waht can you do. Last weekend I was caching near a playground in a little wood strip area. A father with two daughters ask me if I was geocaching. I said yes and we had a nice conversation about caching. He heard about it but knew very little. His girls also were excited about treasure hunting. I gave them both a little toy from my treasure bag and continued my search. Maybe their dad will be a future geocacher.
  12. I’m thinking about hiding a cache. I have a few questions. Who are volunteer reviewers? Are they local as to the area where the cache is to be hidden? How are they selected? I noticed one had only one find. So experience is not a requirement? Thanks
  13. I am just started caching I have found fifteen including mini's. The only ones I have a problem with are multi-caches. I looked for two and could not find the first one of both. What is going on with this type of cache? Thanks
  14. I just got a garmin 60csx, went out and found my first cache. Only problem was the street map. Do I need to down load a map? It will just show interstate highways. No steet or other details like the one I use in my car. Can anyone explain this? Thanks
  15. Were you a premium member? I think your case is very rare. All they have to do is email this person and ask if they are going to continue.
  16. I sent the following email to Groundspeak and geocaching.com two days ago and have NOT gotten an reply. Is this the slow response I can expect to get? Is there another email address I should use? I have recently become a premium member. I tried to get the user name rustynails, but found another person using it. I have taken the name rustynails1. I researched the user name rustynails and found this person is not a active member and last used the site july 2007. If possible I would like to replace my user name as rustynails instead of rustynails1. Please help me. I just want to add, the person using the name rustynails registered in june 2007 is not a premium member. And like I stated they have not been active since july 2007. Can anyone help? Thanks
  17. I'm posting this again because some one erased or censored my last post on this. I don't know why, I was never informed of any problems. I am just starting geocaching and am getting a Garmin 60csx. I read the memory card will hold waypoint and other location data in addition to map down loads. I have also read it is only used to hold map information and nothing else. Can anyone give me the correct information on what the memory card is used for? Thank You
  18. I'm getting a garmin 60csx. I am thinking of upgrading to a 2GB memory card. Some people disagree on what the card holds. All I know so far it stores map information. Can or will a memory card store waypoint/cache or other imformation? What information will it store? I will be using it in two diffrent states, will swapping cards work for keeping locations seperate logs in two states? Thanks
