  1. You betcha,I see it used all the time. In logs and spoken between cachers. Ya, I'm in Minnesota. Ya, I drink pop. I hear pop way more often than I hear soda here.
  2. You poor soul, go ahead and bake in the hot sun. Right now in Minneapolis it's 4 below with wind chills about 20 below. Had a blizzard yesterday and the local weeknight caching group went caching. They never cancel. I'll take the the cold and snow anytime. After all what's winter without it.
  3. It might turn people off if they think they have to dig holes. They won't bother to find out about geocaching. And for those that don't geocache, they will think we go around digging holes.
  4. I once found one of those funny cigarettes. I don't smoke those or any others.
  5. How sad, my heart aches for the family and friends. I am so sorry for thier loss. Won't be long before a greedy lawyer gets in and sues the CO.
  6. Here is a theory no one has mentioned. It could be possible ground speak has been silent because it wants to protect the identity of the persons or person that may have come forward with proof the this cache is a fraud. They may not want the CO to know who this is. Possible????
  7. Good point! Obama is NOT black he is bi-racial. His mother white his father african. I know what a speak of. I am also bi-racial. I do not claim to be of one race. This would be disrespectful to the parent that is left out. When Obama says he's black, he's saying his mother does not exist. not familiar with the concept of the octaroon, are you? please know your history. historically people with one black great-grandparent have been considered under various laws and conventions to be black. under jim crow laws anyone with any black ancestors at all was considered black. typically the black community accepts as black anyone with black heritage because of this. for the purposes of racism , segregation, and slavery historically there was no such thing as half-white. you were either white, or you weren't. You get 50 percent of your make up from each parent. What don't you understand? Oh and I knew I would get attacked here.

  9. Very well said, I agree. I remove them from caches and then notify the CO that an offensive item was removed from their cache. Remove it and be quiet about it. Why do you have a problem with a CO knowing an offensive item was in their cache?

  11. Investigating now. What is the problem? When do we get a fix? I need to download many caches to my GPS
  12. I do the same. I also log for the CO I removed an offensive item from the cache.
  13. Well, the cache is located in England so the slang may vary. Piece of poop?
  14. I case anyone wants to know, here is one of the muti. parts to this cache. GC1GXGD And many have since been archived.
  15. Check this out. What do you think? http://www.startribune.com/local/south/645...7PQLanchO7DiUsX I cache here and have have found a couple parts of this muti-cache puzzel. It's a good one to bad this happened.
  16. I like custom built caches and ammo cans. I just hate it when people put them high up trees.
  17. Click your mouse anywhere on the page. Then hold down the ctrl key and press A. Nudge given. How is this done? And what I mean is how do you set up the text so you have to use this trick to activate it. Thanks
  18. Yeah, Found a few of KBs caches out in the open and with full logs. Nothing speicial, just 35mms and peanut butter jars. I prefer the caches that people create and put alot of thought into them.
  19. it is that delightful time of year that makes life worth living. i could never live in the deep south, and by "deep south", please understand that i mean massachusetts. anything south of that might as well be ecuador if you ask me. ewwwwww. i prefer the more moderate climate of, say, montreal. I agree, although I will argue that we do have real winter here in NJ (well in most years). Snow is likely in most years and in some years we get a decent snow pack, and below 0 degree temps are not all that unheard of. Sure I realize that that is a warm day in Vt. My brother lives there and says sometimes he feels like he is living in Ice Station Zebra, but some of my favorite skiing days were in Vermont it was 20 degrees below zero at the summit not including the wind chill factor. It makes you feel so alive. I couldn't live in an area where there was no real winter. You can have Florida, southern CA and southern Texas. I have no interest in wearing shorts and sandals in January. Give me my 20 below LL Bean boots, a down jacket and some sun and it is it absolute heaven. See . See and this. That is life! Yah want some real winter, visit Minnesota in January and do some caching. Uff da if your lucky it might be a warm 5-10 above.
  20. Quote: I just did some rough calculations. Not definitive, mind you, but rough. In the world, there are 57.5 million miles of land area, there abouts. Within that 57.5 million square miles, each cache "should" be no more than 528 feet apart, or .1 miles. I did a little basic geometry and found that if you put caches as close as humanly possible to one another, you could actually fit around 114 caches in a square mile, and maybe a couple more. However, I wanted my math to be on the conservative side. If you do the math, you get that it's roughly 6.555 billion caches you could place in the entire world. Now, you're probably from the U.S., so this could be misleading, since really you're only looking at 3.79 million square miles (which could be false, as could the other mileage figure, since it's from wikipedia). Even wikipedia though probably isn't too far off about this. So if you do the math on how many caches would fit on 3.79 million square miles, you get 432,060,000 caches that are possible. Currently, in the entire world, there are 909,882 caches placed. That leaves, in the United States alone, room for 431,150,178 more caches. However, you probably can't travel the entire United States to place a cache. But since your 3 total finds and 1 hide are from Virginia, let's use that state as a basis. Even if all of the existing caches in the entire world were in Virginia, which has a mere total area of 42,774 square miles, there would still be room for 3,966,354 more caches. 3,966,354 more caches IN VIRGINIA ALONE. So, I guess what I'm saying is QUIT WHINING ABOUT THE STINKING GUIDELINES AND GO HIDE A CACHE IN ONE OF THE OTHER 3,966,354 PLACES IN YOUR STATE THAT ARE WITHOUT-A-DOUBT STILL AVAILABLE FOR A CACHE. I mean, your post count on the forums isn't even at 10 and they outnumber your hides and you're arguing with CACHE RULES AND PHILOSOPHY. Come on, man, grow up. p.s. I did all the math because I like math it's fun. :-) You will get attacked here.
  21. When I was returning to my car after finding a new hide (FTF), An angry man for across the street came over to my car. He damanded to know what I was doing at this playground. I told him not to be alarmed and explained a little about geocaching. I told him to look up geocahing.com and he could learn more about it. He said he was not happy about the playground being used for this. I said some cachers feel the same. That is why I came here at 7:30 Sunday morning.
  22. The more you crunch the numbers, the more unbelievable it becomes. Now add the time to take those photo's and what ever other photo's were shot. Even more unbelievable.
  23. Now we will have to add the photo time to the formula to debunk this so called record.
